So your fine with the empire rounding people up and sending them off to be killed by the Thalmor. Just because they want to worship their god? Good to know dude. Good to know that your ok with the empire killing off civilians. BUT OH GOD don't be racist.Smeggs said:I followed that Stormcloak guy at the beginning by mistake.
Now whenever I see as group of them on my travels, Unrelenting Force+Fire Balls.
Thalmor goes around kidnapping people and killing them not empire.Outcast107 said:I never seen anyone be against multiculture but the Empire. yes true, the the nords are a bit racist, but at least they arn't gathering all the non-nords up to be killed off. They are letting them stay in the city and live. Sure the low drunks are giving them trouble but their just the lowly drunks.
What does the empire do? Go out and kidnap people and kill them. How is that not worst then what the StormCloaks are doing. Which seem to be just just harassing the non-nords.
....did you play Oblivion? Visit their capital city. It is a bustling place where all races live together peacefully. The Empire is a beacon of multiculturalism. Now visit Windhelm, Ulfric's city. What do you see? Argonians segregated to the docks and the Dunmer segregated to a crappy neighborhood.Outcast107 said:I never seen anyone be against multiculture but the Empire. I'm definitely supporting Stormcloaks... the empire seems to be in a state of decline in the fourth era.

I believe that the Empire put Skyrim under the rule of the Thalmor to gain peace in the Great War with the White-Gold Concordat if I remember right. The king didn't want to do it, but what other choice did he have? The Thalmor were kicking some serious Imperial ass all up and down Tamriel. Even the blades, the elite squad of ninja/knights whose soul purpose was to SLAY DRAGONS AND PROTECT AND LEAD THE DRAGONBORN were killed by the Thalmor. From what I've learned it was more of a Roflstomping, the Blades totally underestimated the Thalmor's power.Outcast107 said:I never seen anyone be against multiculture but the Empire. But Oblivion Empire is a totally different empire form Skyrim. The Empire gave up the mages guide, Talos, disbanded the Blades, and gave up a huge chunk of Hammerfell. Plus who to say the Thalmor hasn't change how the Empire handles itself? We haven't been there at all. Plus at least they are letting the them live there. If they were truely racist and hate all non-nords. Why even let them live there? Also they are Refugees. Do you expect them to live in a good place? When Windhelm is the oldest city in Skyrim and most likely putting all its money into the war.RedEyesBlackGamer said:snip
A lot has changed? General Tullius's second in command is a Nord. No Imperial soldier has ever brought up my race (Argonian) in my time serving them. The Empire protects citizens regardless of race. And do you remember the first thing that you see upon entering Windhelm? A group of Nords threatening a Dunmer for being a Dunmer. Hooray for racism. It is okay, they are refugees. The Empire seems the same to me. They don't even enforce the Talos ban. Only Thalmor agents do.Outcast107 said:But Oblivion Empire is a totally different empire form Skyrim. True, but if you walk around Skyrim you see a whole bunch of Thalmor/Empire having up to three or four prisoners. I REALLY don't like this. Because the Empire is letting this happen. They could easily let them go but they don't. They hand them over to the Thalmor to do whatever they please.Smeggs said:snip
Only other option to that is to start a new war against Thalmor. A war that Empire could and would most likely lose currently. Not really an option.Outcast107 said:True, but if you walk around Skyrim you see a whole bunch of Thalmor/Empire having up to three or four prisoners. I REALLY don't like this. Sure the Empire isn't really want to listen to the Thalmor, but right now I rather be with the StormCloaks who are a bit racist but to me its due to the consent threat of ousiders telling to how they should live their lives. Rather then side with the empire who just sighs and nods his head to the Thalmor because they got them by the balls.
Did you listen to the conversation? To me they were more piss off that the Dark elf hasn't chosen a side at all. Now if you were a nord, who live in the slums (Cause I'm pretty sure that guy did, he didn't seem like a higher up) who keep hearing how elves are telling people what to do. Would you make a stupid mistake in believing all elves are bad? I mean hell look how America treated Arabs when the Terrorist attack happen.RedEyesBlackGamer said:A lot has changed? Segregation in the Stormcloaks' capital city says a lot about their stance on other cultures. And I heard that Ulfric says something about Argonians being paid less than Nord workers. They strike me as a bunch of super nationalists. Before I took sides, I spoke to a Stormcloak captain in one of their camps. He told me to only go to Windhelm to join the rebellion if I was a "true" son of Skyrim, i.e. Nord and born there.Satsuki666 said:Wait when do they say anything about being against multiculturalism? The stormcloaks are perfectly willing to accept anybody of any race. Yes you will have to prove yourself before you start working with them but that is only natural. You are a stranger they know nothing about who didnt even live in skyrim and they know that. You were caught at the beginning of the game trying to sneak into the country.
Eh, they shouldn't gave up in the first place. They lost a lot of ground and major forces in that treaty. Plus If Skyrim is independent I'm sure the Thalmor would be strech to far to do any real damage. Hamemerfell, Skyrim, and Cyrodiil would be a lot of tough places to attack.seraphy said:Only other option to that is to start a new war against Thalmor. The difference being the Imperials have Stormcloack rebels who were probably captured in a raid.Outcast107 said:True, but if you walk around Skyrim you see a whole bunch of Thalmor/Empire having up to three or four prisoners. We are going to have to agree to disagree.Outcast107 said:Did you listen to the conversation? To me they were more piss off that the Dark elf hasn't chosen a side at all. Plus not enforce the Talso ban? HELL they enforce everything else. The blades disbandment, the disbandment of the mages guide, giving up a huge chuck of hammerfell and lastly the bad of Talos.
Plus if you talk to the Grey-manes you found out their son was taken away. Now, This is Whiterun, a neutral city. No Thalmor in site, who would have capture and given the son up to the Thalmor?
The Thalmor had plans to conquer the entirety of Tamriel. They have a massive invasion force, you just never really get to see it first-hand. There's a reason that the Thalmore are such a threat, it's because they are strong and many.Outcast107 said:Eh, they shouldn't gave up in the first place. Funny thing, when I went with Rolaf and ask him about joining the StormCloaks. He told me "You don't have to be born in Skyrim to be a fight for it." Different people have different ideas. To me, a "True" son of Skyrim is someone who is willing to fight for freedom and not be bought out by the Empire. Look at the Battle-born and Grey-mane feud. When I first talk with the Grey-manes they didn't ask me who side I was on. They didn't care, but once I talk to one of the Battle-born. DAMN. I was told to pick a side and do it fast. Plus listen to them when they go and brag to the grey-manes' mother about her son.RedEyesBlackGamer said:Segregation in the Stormcloaks' capital city says a lot about their stance on other cultures. Eh I guess lol. But what we can agree on is killing Thalmor is going to be awesome. Join the battlefield when that happens?RedEyesBlackGamer said:snip
True, but look at what happen in Hammerfell. They fought back and got the Thalmor to get push back. If they can do this why can't Skyrim? Which has the same harsh terrain. Though perhaps we should just join forces whenever we can kill the Thalmor and not argue about which side is right. Since they both have their pros and cons.Smeggs said:snip
