See, as far as I'm concerned most shooters have always been like this. My problem with modern shooters is that they have so much more plot without actually adding any depth. There's so much damned talking in the new Battlefield/MoH/CoD campaigns but none of it says anything more than the short, between mission briefings (and sometimes cutscenes) of the older games.

A big issue with modern AAA gaming in general seems to be that games have to have a story even when they don't really have much of a story to tell.
