Okay so no one's played MGS games? I mean those things are **** up. I played MGS 2 all the way through and got so angry with the writing that I nearly pitched my tv out a window. That was some ridiculous plot.
I would have to disagree with you. I played all the MGS games and found it confusing yet not impossible to understand. I found the twisting complex storyline entertaining. The series seemed more like one big game. An episodic story where each game revealed another peace of the puzzle. Though MGS2 was **** up. With the AI breaking down and all the messed up things that happened at the end.
I found out that the Ansem in Kingdom Hearts wasn't really ansem but the hearless of someone else who was POSSIBLY ansem but it turned out it wasn't ansem and then we met up with Ansem's nobody who wasn't actually ansem but actually Ansem's assistant Xeonorht.
Yeah, the whole plot in the Kingdom Hearts series is fucked up, to this day I still have no idea what the hell Kingdom Hearts is.
Kingdom Hearts is: the world where hearts go after they have been consumed by the Heartless. It is also the place where darkness and light within the heart reside. I think.
Anyways, as for confusing stories, I'll have to point towards... geez, I can't think of anything.

Kingdom Hearts was a nice idea, just the storyline made absolutely no sense. It's too convoluted for its own good, and this is supposed to be appeal to a younger audience? I too am confused as to what Kingdom Hearts is supposed to be.
Here's a simple description of the nature of Kingdom Hearts and a simple plotline synopsis.
Kingdom Hearts is the place where all life originates from. Where life is created. The Heartless want Kingdom Hearts as a heart factory to restore their lost hearts. The Nobodies want Kingdom Hearts as a heart factory to restore their lost hearts. Sora wants to stop them so that people can still be born and have hearts (based on my guess at his motives. Although I doubt Sora was contemplative enough to know what he was doing.)

Then why the hell did Jafar and the other villans need to find "Keyholes" for? Your explanations just make it more confusing for me, but god I'm going to get the PSP game and Kingdom Hearts III when it comes out wether I like it or not.

I find MGS2 understandable if you pay attention, but elements of MGS4 didn't confuse me as much as they just didn't seem necessary to the plotline. Also it featured an annoying retcon.
