Yo. Curious on what kind of things the escapists are suffering from.
Feel free to share your stories and scars, how bout I get this started?

I suffer from Cluster headaches, also known as ''Suicide headaches''.
It affects about 0.1% of the population, mainly men.
It's a very rare ailment that essentially causes horrible pain almost 24/7.
I first noticed my headaches when I was around 13 years old (20 now), and they evolved within a year to be permanent.
On a average month I have about two headache-free days (blissful days). I have gone to several doctors, all which found nothing wrong with me. I self-diagnosed myself after having tried some ''illegal substances'' which helped. I looked it up, and as it turns out, Cluster headaches have shown to be suseptible to.

I don't really have any strange ailments per se, just a lot of minor/trivial ones, including, but not limited to: partial deafness; short sightedness; colour blindness; mild spinal curvature; and a cyst the size of a golfball somewhere below my left lung.

My wristjoints are apparently a wee bit wonky, they do these odd snaps when I shake hands with someone, for instance. That, and one of my bottom ribs poke out a bit. It's not really an ailment, just a bit of a weird bug, really.

Fairly sure it's benign (hence use of the word(s) 'minor/trivial').

Something's been below my ribcage/left lung for about half my life, but it's been slowly growing. So, I've had a few scans of it and I'll see if I need surgery to get it removed in a week's time.

Ive had Arthritis in my hands and wrist since I was 14...it sucks.

Beyond that, when im in stressful situations I sing 'Sunny days' (Sesame Street theme) to myself. I started when I was 6, im now 20 and show no signs of stopping.

I'm currently seeing a doctor about some weird-ass problem I have with eating. I start gagging without feeling sick (ie to the stomach) after a couple of bites. It's not the food, it's not a lack of appetite, I just can't eat a lot - or sometimes anything at all.

Weirdest thing, it gets worse when I'm slightly nervous. Now, again, usually nervousness can make some people sick, but my stomach is fine. I don't get queasy, I feel like I'm already in the middle of throwing up.
One exception: Late nights. I can (and do) eat a whole fucking bag of chips in one go - probably it's the only time I'm ever, like, ... relaxed. o_O

The good doctor will have a look down my throat (EGD) but won't bother going as far as the stomach. If there isn't anything to be found there... I'm kinda convinced it's psychosomatic or something. Come on, doc, just throw some anti-anxiety stuff my way already.

Cuz this sucks. And because it sucks, I get nervous every time I eat. "What if I can't eat a lot again!?". And promptly, because of it, I can't eat a lot.

Just think: Can't go out for dinner with friends, cuz what's the point. Forget romantic dinners. Even family visits suck. Until I told them (once I started seeing the doctor) they probably thought I'm just a bad eater, very picky or simply hated everything they ever prepared!

... and I can remember it happening as far back as 2003. Joy.

I'm Mister Mattress and I have Diabetes. It hurts me to pee and it causes me to be short with my family. I can't sleep at night. The other day I stubbed my toe and took it out on the dog. And 2 Weeks ago I ran out of Vanilla Ice Cream and Struck my wife. Then I find out my wife's been dead for 6 years... Who the hell did I hit? (This Message Brought to you By Family Guy Brought to you by The National Diabetes Association)

Seriously, I have Diabetes.

Disgraphya, my brain won't send the right signals to my hands and every time I try to write it comes out in scribbles. I slow down it becomes legible but it takes an obscene amount of time and causes severe pain in my wrist. Tis really odd but, especially in today world, fairly easy to work around.

EDIT:

I don't suffer from anything I would deem 'strange', just hay fever as far as I know.

I admit though... It sucks when you live in an area that grows sugar cane, considering it is usually burnt up before being harvested. It seriously upsets my hay fever whenever they start harvesting. DDX

"Non-bacterial Prostatitis". Or to the layman, "we doctors have no fucking idea what's wrong with you". Going on 3 years now.

When I sneeze really hard, it tends to pop the veins in my nose and "massive" amounts of blood leak out. I had one this morning and it looked like someone attacked me with a knife and slashed my face and hands. The blood also happens to spray from the sneeze so my room looked a bit like a brutal murder crime scene.

I have a shitty intestinal system, ba dum tiss, where I'll get gas pains and then go to the bathroom three times and spend about an hour on it. One of the causes is that I'm actually allergic the those Jimmy deans breakfast sandwiches

The left side of my face is a total mess due to eczema, and in the summertime it gets infected and turns me into the Phantom of the Opera. My chest is afflicted with gynaecomastia too. That's the most embarrassing. Oh, and I have lumps in my eyelids. Most unpleasant.

I love peanuts, peanut butter, and all peanut products in general. However, if I eat them too often within too small a period of time, the taste changes. It's not like I get sick of them, they'll begin to taste more and more bitter to the point of being almost rotten. They haven't gone bad or anything either. I can even eat some other completely different item and if it has peanuts in it, it too will taste disgusting. If I stop eating peanuts for about a month or two once this starts, they'll go back to being tasty and delicious. I've never heard of anyone else having this problem.
