well escapist, i want to know about some of your strange hobbies?
I for one am a weaponry collector, though i focus on mostly melee/bladed "objects".

its funny there are times when i can test who i will get along with in a group of strangers when the word gets out, just by who gets freaked out/backs away and who gives the "OH COOL" look

and i've gotten to the point where just yesterday i walked into a pawn shop and basically appraised the two cheap swords the guy had for a fairly high price, though i never said anything because i didn't want to be insulting.

i also have some interest in becoming a voice actor and i practice with my voice, so there are times when i may switch into using a different accent or tone just to mess with people.

but enough about me! what are some of your odd or strange hobbies escapists??

and how have they entertained you or made you feel good/important at times??

I'm a computer hoarder, I try and keep them going way beyond their designed lifespan. My oldest is a Windows 95 pc, which has been around for about 20 years, and my proudest achievement was getting an old laptop successfully working without a working hard-drive or cd-rom drive.

A Hermit's Cave
KENJUTSU! *dramatic voice & a lot of rambling in Japanese*

Other than that, don't really have many strange hobbies, per se... wouldn't really call kenjutsu that strange either... ah well.

I didn't think it was strange for me to go shooting until I moved to the city. Everyone looked at me like I had two heads when I started talking about going shooting every few weekends.

I've ran into this kind of situation so much i always find it funny when i meet people online who aren't used to the small differences that you and I would find normal.

Writing My Little Pony fanfiction and creating fanart of it too. I'm pretty sure many people would laugh at me if I told them I do that. But really, I find it rather relaxing and it's nice to share your creations with a good community of people.

Though I take it a step further, I'm getting into reloading soon. I can't afford the press yet, but I have a reloading book and I'm constantly looking up stuff about bullets and powders and different calibers and ballistics and Im turning into a gun otaku of unrivaled proportions :D.

I also continue to play pokemon games at 22 years old, though that's probs pretty standard around here. I play yugioh, when someone will dual me.

I am writing a screenplay. It's a crime thriller involving corrupt cops and a serial killer. The challenge is not writing a compelling story but seeing how many 80s references I can cram into it.

My strange hobby is apparently target shooting. I always get dirty looks when people ask me what I did this weekend and the answer is shoot but god damn it I love to shoot.

Somebody I know considers gaming so strange that it doesn't even count as a hobby.
So, does that mean it counts as a strange hobby?

If I could be bothered with the shipping expenses my strange hobby would be building scale plastic models of giant robots.

Edit: *facepalm* Why didn't I think of it? I play Yu-gi-oh. I have collected cards since it was released.

Me too, though when I move to America I want to expand to firearms.

My favorite piece is a ghurka issue kukri.

I'm currently looking to buy this

Edit: Oh yes, I do shoot. I live in a the Yorkshire countryside, but my college is filled with mostly urban people. When they ***** me out about it, I just say "well, which one of us is being more aggressive right now?"

Well, I like animals.
I keep arachnids (spiders, scorpions etc) and other invertebrates, collect them, as well as bones and other such things, and I follow animals in nature. Mammals and birds as well, but I'm more interested in invertebrates.

Some people think it's odd, especially dissecting animals and cleaning their bones for your collection.

Oddly enough, a lot of people who eat meat (which I don't do much) think it's "horrible"...

I spend hours and hours on porn versions of chat roulette. It's awful and I need to stop... but I can't. Look at all those weird penises...

Thats not a strange hobby, lots of people do that.

Me, I like to sale things to make money.

In Middle and High school my brother and I ran an operation where I sold knives (I literally had like 12-20 knives on me each day from middle school till I graudated. And my brother sold jewlery, we kept our backpacks close to us. Largest thing I sold was a machete and most extreme thing I sold was a bone axe (looked bone but was really steel)

I collect dolls. I have dozens of them, ranging from $25 Barbies of characters I like (mostly Disney) to porcelain dolls to several-hundred dollar resin dolls. This [http://img.iplehouse.com/co_img006/iplehouse/etc/JID_isar_21.jpg] is my most expensive doll, costing nearly $900 all together. That tends to trip people up. I can't tell you how many times I've taken her out shopping, gotten stopped by someone who is interested in her, only for them to have to pick their jaws up off of the floor when they find out how much she cost.

Music boxes, the old ones you wind up. I am collecting and rebuilding them.
That and I build Steampunk stuff, I have just started on a miniature town and it's a lot of fun.
