I won't use items I'm afraid won't come up again. So, I don't use megalixers. In fact, in FFX, I was reticent of using spheres.

On Oblivion, I tend to never let go of any loot I get in caves, ruins, etc.
I get over-encumbered a lot.

I also never sell any of said loot unless I find the maximum possible selling price.
Well, then, I guess I really don't have much more to add. I end up taking characters who aren't annoying over those that are, even if the annoying ones have much better moves, attacks, or abilities.

I DON'T trust my dodge rating. I just don't
This. It must be a Fire Emblem thing.
kinda.
though in fire emblem i alwase max out my characters beffore i class change them, its not really strange but still.
though in almost any RPG i choose my characters or pets on how cool they look, not there stats.
and it seams to work fine especaly in fire emblem!

I never let go of old stuff for some reason. Like the wood sword you start out with. I sell the rest but I keep that one.
I sell nothing. In games like Baulders gate where you can leave something in a level an it will never leave.......o yea it all stays. My wooden sword stays as well.

Also i dont trust my defense rating. It says it stops some of the damage but im not seeing it

This, and I never ever use magic, besides healing, with the exception of Oblivion. (Even then I preferred melee.)

I always hit things until they die. I never rely on (or even use) spells if I have them (except for healing). I also never use items unless absolutely necessary or they get auto-used when required. I love to max out all stats and levels. On that note, when I have all the best gear and maxed levels, I love to go on a New Game + and completely obliterate everything. Hohoho, so much fun. :3

Oh, and I don't grind unless I get stonewalled by a boss.
For all these reasons, I love Chrono Trigger.

I have an unnatural desire to decorate my house in Megaton with pointless crap.

You see, I love collecting all types of things in RPG's. Anything from items to entries in some sort of monster encyclopedia. I just like to collect stuff.

I always wear the stuff that looks good over the stuff that actually does crap. I also prefer to use pistols simply because they're cool, even if they're weaker.

Whenever I play an RPG that allows the creation of Characters, I.E. Final Fantasy Tactics, Diseaga 3, Morrowind, Oblivion etc. I have a long list of names that I have on my cork board, that I always use. No idea why I use them, I just do, makes the game more enjoyable for me.

Kevin is the first one on the list if that Gives you any hint to the theme of the list.

I tend to use melee combat and try to look for the cool items to use. I love light armor, and it seems I must complete the entire mini-map shroud of war thingy.

In group RPG's, i must keep all my characters the same lvl and try to keep them all the best equipped. Also, potions are used a LOT!

Style over Function always.
Main character always in party, then stack the slots with hot chicks.
Hoard items
Try to align exp bars for simultaneous leveling.
Speak to everyone.
Fill the map.
Check all paths.
Click anything remotely clickable.
Always buy new stuff.
Never sell old stuff.
Use status affect spells knowing they always miss.

This could go on for a while...

I'm guilty of hoarding items to such an extent that in Oblivion my 360 lags when I enter my house in any city. Also I do not wear light armor as it does not suit my style of play (get in close and bash, shoot, strike, kill, maim, etc etc)

I seem to have the opposite problem of a lot of the RPGers here ~ I have a terrible habit of not saving very much. I can't recall how many times in how many different games I'll just keep grinding out the same levels or gaining the same experience numerous times because I want to do things a certain way, reach a certain fight or QTE (Quick-time Event), and fall flat on my face and fail 2-3 times before winning. Not that I waste a ton of time for any one problem, but by doing that 10 times in a game, I can waste a good 5-10 hours on zero progress.

Other than that, I have another habit of seeking out the hardest and rarest equipment or special items in any game. I can easily waste months grinding out making money or doing quests just to get that sense of accomplishment of completing something not everyone can do (or be bothered to waste time on).

That second one has backfired on me a few times though, most notably the Danjuro in FFXII (PS2 burned out after being left on for months trying to play every available minute I was home, I chained that stupid imp to 139 using the bomb trick before I came home to a frozen game. PS2 refused to play any discs after that).

I tend to steal things just to eat them. Kind of a small "fuck you" to whoever owned the foodstuff I just nommed. I'm sure I look like a deranged hobo for doing it, but I can't help myself.

For games where it's possible, I have to grind all my characters to the same level, and it usually has to be a multiple of 5.
