By strange I mean combinations that you later eat, or maybe just rituals that are out of the ordinary.

Myself here's a list:

Peanut butter and onion sandwiches, while not necessarily back end of beyond strange, still isn't what one would think would work well.

Honey BBQ potato chips and hot sauce

No matter what I must mix mashed potatoes with other vegetables if they are present.

Frying quesadillas in butter, garlic and honey rather than baking them

What are your strange things?

Roast Potatoes slathered in Nacho Cheese. They're a heavenly mix of Creamy,Crispy & Fluffy if you can get them right.

Garlic Bread topped with Sweet Chilli Sauce is another favorite of mine. It's like a Sponge Cake, but savory!

I had sex with a cantaloupe

But no, I like raisins on pizza, I like a little ranch dressing in my pasta, I like mustard on fried chicken, and I like to make sloppy joes with deer meat and pepsi.

I eat lemon slices, including the peel. Don't know why but I really like sour tastes for some reason.

That actually sounds good.

Taco Bell does that. It's home fries with cheese on them I think. Cheesy Nacho Potatoes?

As for me, every once in a while I'll drink a beer or coffee in the shower. The unorthodox combination makes the taste different.

I don't think it's strange but my family do.

Make yourself some crisp sandwiches, some soup and dip that shit.
Lovely.

Somehow I must think of the Flex Mex (look it up at yt if you want) when reading the topic. I am not very experimental, at least when it is about mixing tasted that imo do not fit together.
Last time I tried to add an egg to my instant ramen noodle soup. Needless to say that the water temperature wasn't high enough for the protein to denaturate, tried to stir a bit to look if at least something did denaturate. Ofc it didn't. So I ended up putting the bowl into the micro wave to end up with a lot of very fine egg pieces swimming around in the sea of what was the noodle soup.

i once wanted to deliberately try something disgusting, so i dipped my chocolate chip cookie in tartar sauce, and to my surprise it was secretly a divine combination. i've tried to convince people to try it ever since, and rarely succeed. everyone just assumes, as i did, that it would be disgusting, and they refuse to try it.

but seriously.

try it.

Not really a food creation, but I once made mashed potatoes with a cordless drill. The electric mixer was broken, so I put the mixing paddle in my drill, and mashed them that way. Worked pretty well.

I'm an American who dunks fries in mayonnaise. I hear that's a thing in the UK (and possibly Australia) but not so much here in the US...Another thing that I'm unaware of as being popular anywhere is my love of Mayonnaise on other things like Hot Dogs, pizza crust and, a variety of things that I just can't think of off of the top of my head.

When I was young and pure, I used to make something (I) called "Worm Soup":

Take a bowl of soup and then, with a spoon carefully add sour cream of medium viscosity in such a way that it creates these long pale stands in the soup.

These stands do not dissolve easily if they are made carefully and not disturbed, giving the appearance of a bowl filled with with worms. Works best with dark soups, for contrast.

Good times, indeed...

sandwich with cheese..... AND ham. you wont believe how many people are grossed out by this.
that was probably a joke but are people seriously grossed out by that? I eat those all the time.

OT: I have to put salt in soup, doesn't matter if it's canned or made from scratch, it's getting more salt, I've also put salt in chocolate milkshakes, with varying results

I like to stir a little BBQ sauce in with tuna, (not salmon though, oddly enough)

in my less health-sensitive days I would butter both sides of my bread for sandwiches

also on the subject of sandwiches, I know it's a fairly common "oddity" at least where I come from, but in lieu of any substantial sandwich filling, I would just use ketchup, or whatever sauce I liked that was available (preferably BBQ)

I occasionally eat dry bread, even when other options are available, (but never when there is cheese...I like cheese)

with the exception of roast potatoes, if I have potatoes that aren't mashed, I must mash them with my fork, (also I cannot even comprehend eating potatoes without gravy, unless cheese is involved)

I think that will do for now

The local pizza place I frequent has among their menu items chicken pizza with roasted cashews and tomato slices. Nuts on a pizza, whoever thought of this I want to kiss them on the mouth because it is the best thing I've ever eaten.

You're in luck!

After the Swamp Thing debacle in regards to his relationship with Ms. Arcane, people are far more accepting! Might wanna be sure it wasn't a werefood beast whose infection will make you turn into a meal with TEETH during the full moon, though.

OT: ANYWAY!

I have often experimented with what can do well with a bowl of salsa to make it strange-but-better. Various forms of chili or (red) pasta sauce have worked, as well as BBQ sauce, HP sauce, grated parmesan and/or romano cheese, cheddar cheese, hot pepper cheese, cayenne pepper, corn, lima beans, succotash (of course) green beans, pork and beans, chopped up pieces of meat, cumin, and more.

I had a friend in high school who's family wasn't doing well with money and he introduced me to the "Goop sandwich" one day, which is peanut butter and syrup mixed together and spread on bread.

When I cook spaghetti I will typically just use ketchup mixed with plain yogurt as the sauce. It is really quite good.

I grew up on those sandwiches. With that in mind I am completely surprised I'm not 300lbs or worse.
