Strange things you've done with food

Most of the things I've eaten (and would choose to eat again) aren't terribly odd. It turns out some ingredients pair well and others do not.

The oddest food I make and eat again (and it is only odd to people who have not tried it) is my own take on the classic Beer Bratwurst. I start by simmering the sausage in beer (which isn't strange in the slightest) and then finish the sausage on whatever cooking surface is available. The odd part is that I simmer in the heaviest stout I can find (one pint per five sausages). Upon removing the sausage, I reduce the stout and add various things to the eventually resulting a black ichor that clings to the onions and is more or less a somewhat sweetened stout concentrate. To this, I add a shot of IPA (largely for the aromas). Sausages are served stuffed into some sort of bun with a bit of Brie and then topped with the sauce coated onions.

The dish actually got it's start entirely by accident where leaving a burner on and attending to other things made me notice that stout (which was chosen because it was the beer on hand) combined with the onions, produced a thin syrup that even in the native state was pretty good. The recipe has morphed over the years I've made it to build a better topping. I've even leveraged this sauce into a custom sauce of various BBQ dishes which is a minor heresy given in Texas (where I live) dry rubs are king.

I have, however, eaten various foods of naked people before. Sushi is the only example where I've done it in public of course.

Nacho cheese sauce and strawberry Twizzlers.

I eat my toast with Ketchup.

I like Hot Dogs boiled in sauerkraut.

That's all I can think of that's really weird. Though where I live, sushi, hummus, pita, quiona, and the like are considered 'weird' and any cheese that isn't velveeta or spelled with a 'z' is strange.

I don't think this is strange. But I'm the only one in the family who does it. One sandwich doesn't satisfy my hunger, and two is too much. So I put another layer with another piece of bred on top of the normal sandwich. I call it a 3 story sandwich.
