Name: Kabadai

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Race: Hobgoblin. Hobgoblins are a tribal society which was formerly rather peaceful and has a religion based upon the worship of stars. Hobgoblins have jagged teeth, extremely sharp claws, pointed ears, small body frames yet strong muscles, dark skin with a sandpaper-like skin and beady white eyes. They often walk hunched over, although some walk straight, and possess a strong sense of sight but poor feeling. The region of space they occupy, also shared with other goblinoid and orcish races, is sometimes known as the Toilet of Space due to how often it gets shitted into. Almost every empire big of small has at some point carved its way through this sector, and currently it lies between the Aulnira and Culyar borders. Due to the millenniums of warfare, the native Hobgoblins have grown to be a rather vicious and warrior-centric culture. Although unable to form a strong united empire themselves, the Hobgoblins have proven to be ferocious and fearless warriors whenever enemy factions sought to conquer them. Able to disembowel a man with their claws and shoot well with a gun, they have become feared foes and valued mercenaries by races who have faced them.

Equipment: Short rifle with a sword bayonet, meteor shard

Skills: Close Combat ? Being a Hobgoblin, Kadabai is naturally a nasty melee warrior. Even without a weapon he can slash skin or bone alike apart with his claws and is eager to do so. Star Magic ? Kadabai is a warlock, a Hobgoblin able to draw magic energy from the stars themselves. Most of his abilities focus around utilizing heat and energy, but he can only use them if the light of stars or a moon are upon him. Astrology ? Their faith being based upon the stars themselves, many Hobgoblins have some knowledge of Astrology. Being a warlock, Kadabai spent much time learning about it.

Position on the ship: General fighter

Rank: Crew

Appearance: Looks like a typical Hobgoblin, although he prefers to walk upright and his skin has a reddish tint. He stands at 5ft 5inches, has loose black hair and a distinctive sun marking burned onto his forehead. He often wears a short, black robe with yellow tints when relaxing, but when heading off to combat he?ll don flak armour.

Personality: Contrary to his feral appearance and race?s reputation, Kabadai is a rather friendly and well-meaning person. He likes to be helpful and socialize with others even if they are of a different race, and becomes protective and loyal to those he befriends. However in a fight he will often off as being brutal or overly-violent, but this comes from the Hobgoblin warrior culture rather than malice or bloodlust. He tends to be more open-minded than the rest of his race. He also possesses strong feelings when it comes to the freedom and rights of a being, and has a disliking towards to both the Aulnira and Culyar.

History: Born to a family of hunters on one of the several Hobgoblin worlds, Kabadai grew up in a semi-nomadic, warrior-influenced lifestyle like all other Hobgoblins. His clan traveled around the sector doing mercenary work or looking for good temporary settling land. One day however, some forces of the Aulnira got into a dispute with his clan which eventually escalated into a fight. The Aulnira were defeated but returned with a larger force. During their raid on the Hobgoblin settlement, the stars were shining brightly and Kabadai was confronted by an orc serf. In a moment of panic the boy suddenly unleashed a blast of scorching heat which burn the serf to a crisp. After the battle the rest of the clan realized that he was a Warlock, believed in Hobgoblin culture to be a chosen of the stars. He was immediately sent off to one of the older, major Hobgoblin worlds where he would have access to much knowledge. Kadabai studied for many years about astrology and the universe, and would occasionally go on raids with some of the local mercenary groups. He was distraught to find out one day that his old clan had been mostly wiped out by the Aulnira forces they had been fighting for some years now. Soon as he grew into a man he was told to leave and roam to the sea of space, so he could experience the universem learn more of the stars and eventually return to become a wise sage for his people. Kadabai was very eager to leave. Not just because he would get to travel and fight across the universe all on his own but because some of the local clans were talking about joining the Culyar; an idea he finds not appealing.
What's the meteor shard for?

James

'male'

350

Race:Many nanobots coming together into one

Equipment: Pistol (Made up of the same nanobotys the compose him, they are a part of him), lockpicks, wrench

Acrobatics, lockpicking and other such things, an infinite dispneser of knowledge.

Technician

Crew

Whatever face suits him in the situation, mainly chooses to appear as a blank slate with a mouth popping up whenever he speaks. He wears a black tuxedo, also comprised of nanobots, which allows it to stretch to suit him. Nanobots are indestructible, but they can be broken apart and unable to come back together.

James is facetious and sarcastic, a bit vain. He is quite most of the time, and doesn't really like people.

James was made in a factory, directly before the order was made todecommsion all of the Nanobots. Thus, his first memory is of an organic creature pushing him towards a melting pot. He escaped and maimed the people in the factory in the process. He spent the next 100 years wallowing in various slums and criminal outposts, before getting his crap together, shifting into a child's shape, and going through school. He then took 215 years to learn all he could about machines and science. After leaving his studies, he made his way as a famous robotics engineer, before his past caught up with him and he was forced to flee. Eventaully, he found his way to Stranger Things.

I'm suffering from a major writers block, so in order to not break my brain, I went really light on this. If it was seen as a good idea, I would expand on a few things I didn't go into.

Name: Erik Von Grasasmir
Gender: male
Age: 48
Race: Hazeman, formerly goblin (race I made up for ahort story a while back. Basically, they're what happens when magic starts eating a human, dwarf or goblin from the inside out. usually ashen skin, eyes that glow, retracted lips, very thin, claw-like feet and hands and skin looks stretched out. apart from that, they can be expected to have the characteristics of whatever sentient race they come from, plus a few mutations. Naturally skilled mages, but not that much more advanced than other races. Lifespan depends on how much magic they use and how close they stay to civilisation, the latter also effecting their magic skills.)
Equipment: a short sceptre (think a cane with a bejeweled head), a sabre and a pistola
Skills: Magic (Cryomancy in particular)
Magitek Engineering
Underhanded tactics
Position on the ship: To oversee the engine operations
Rank: Second Mate
Appearance: pale skin with long teeth. Eyes are purple, messy hair pushed back, ungroomed Victorian goatee, pointed nose and left thumb the length of index finger. He wears black boots (custom fit) and green pantaloons with a jacket of deep purple with fools gold brocade and a black bowler-hat.
History:
Born in a small, backwards goblinoid community in Magocracy territory, Erik was soon discovered to be a useful mage and was accepted into a university. Unfortunately, he was turned into a hazeman due to a particularly excitable professor and some enchanted water. The university and mages guilds were very understanding, being the logical people that they are, but the smaller towns and villages were still rooted in fear and prejudice, so he left for a more populated area. While being transported, Erik found himself quite interested in the magitek engines that powered the ship, and went almost immediately back to university to study engineering. The job of Overseer fit him very well, due to his love of the engines and logical output, so he wholeheartedly embraced a life of travelling amongst the stars.
still no word back. Think you accidently skipped my sheet.

Christ, that sounds pretentious.

From what I can tell, no news is good news. If he doesn't comment, I guess we can assume it's alright? The only question is when do we start xD?

Name: Thug The Thug
Gender: Male
Age: 39

Race: Ogre

Equipment: Thug packs a large clip fed mini gun which he has affectionately named "Greta", which serves as his main weapon. He also wields a rocket launcher, called Haruld, on missions, and usually only carries a single shot for it. If the enemy comes to close to gun them down or blow them up, he dons a pair of spiked and electrified steel knuckles. When the situation doesn't call for his heavy body armor, he usually wears it anyway, since it's the only clothes he has currently that fit.

Skills: He is good with his mini-gun, extremely strong,
Position on the ship: Security Officer (Not in charge, but a simple patrolman), Enforcer, General Muscle.

Rank: Crew

Appearance: As a reference [http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/dx0224ub_utbt_ogre.jpg] Thug is an average specimen of an ogre, as he stands at 9 feet on average, with a muscled body from years working as a slave miner. He has dark orange skin, that is mostly covered with dark (seemingly black), body hair. The hair on his head is cut quite sloppily, possibly because he uses a knife to cut it himself to a length that is practical for him. However he has a foot long Fu Manchu mustache, which he loves dearly and grooms regularly. As said before, he only wears his combat armor, as it's the only clothing he owns that fits him, and he spends most of his pay on booze, food, and guns.

Personality: He is extremely varied on his personality from person to person, so much so that the crew often talk about "Their Thug" as opposed to someone else's Thug. Most often Thug tries to imitate the personality of a certain person, or adopt one that compliments that individual the best. For instance, to the captain he is a cheerful and loyal companion who shares his views on honor and integrity. To a cold or unfeeling member of team however, he may be completely silent, and prefer to work alone. However there are two Thugs that always show up no matter who he is talking to, and that is Guard Thug, and Mission Thug. Guard Thug is gruff and forceful, who is very suspicious of anyone he doesn't recognize, and is not above using physical violence to remove potential threats. Mission thug is loud and reckless, and enjoys causing distractions, gunning down mooks, and generally getting as thick into the fight as possible.

History: A slave born in a Culyar mining complex, Thug spent the first 25 years of his life being tortured and used in endless labor. Being an ogre, Thug was eventually assigned to be a guard, which he took to well. He stopped a great deal of riots from beginning, and broke up more fights then most could count. While this pleased his overseers, he secretly was unifying the prisoners, and each riot that was quelled was given another chance to erupt, this in sync with the rest of the complex. Thug had engineered a plan with the guards he had managed to sway: Wait until a powerful Dark Elf Representative arrived with his ship, where more of the guard will be used to protect him, and then revolt, using stolen weaponry to suppress the bulk of the guard while the rest of the slaves boarded the ship and made it to safety.

The plan went off well, though there were more casualties then he would've liked. While the entire slave complex revolted, only half of them actually made it out alive. The remaining slaves stole the ship, and escaped into friendly space. Thug ended up on the Glory of Aulnira, where he found work as an underworld enforcer, which is how he gained his name and epitaph. After a few years of cracking heads for crime, he joined up with Conner's crew since it meant a pay raise and a chance to travel.

I really hope this isn't dead cause I worked really hard on this.

This thread isn't dead, but rather the GM has so far been rather unresponsive apart from commenting on character sheets. My guess is that he's busy in RL or that he has a few too many RPs on at the moment, or something of that sort.

Name: homonculus v0.1
Gender: non
Age: 2
Race: robot
Equipment: explained in history
Skills: spying, hacking and adapting to a extreme number of conditions/situations
Position on the ship: to help with heavy labor, combat and anything else he is told to do
Rank: crew
Appearance:

except he has hands with four fingers and a thumb, is 6ft tall and around the main eye is a ring of smaller eyes that move interdependently to help scan a room.
Personality: his personality is changed to help fit the situation this is explained in more detail in the history.
History: A private company was working on nano bots that could change the programming of a robot as well as the physical shape so that machines could adapt to become compatible with technology of unknown origin. Once they made a number of working prototypes they put them into a robot and see if it could make itself compatible with a alien device of unknown origin, after 2 hours the nanobots were able to combine the device with the robot, this had an unexpected site effect the nanobots were somehow improved they were able to change the rate of the robots programming at an increased rate as well as make the robot simulate emotions and voices.

The robot started moving more like a living creature as well as simulating the breathing motion, putting the robot through some simulation showed that it was able to adapt quickly to situation and think creatively. It was also able to build of and shoot high voltage blasts, one of the down sites was that these new nanobots would destroy any other nanobots that come in contact with the robot.

It was also able to adapt it's personality to help with specific verbal and social goals, may it be in a debate by having a more confident voice, upright posture, and target specific weak points in the other debtors argument. when told to await angering the person he was debating with his voice became softer, more comforting but very assured in what it was saying and it's arguments were trying to make the other person believe they were reaching middle ground.

while the nanobots are able to change his thinking pattern and physical shape due to the relativity tiny number of nanobots changing shape takes a about 10 seconds to form a weapon, and doing so slows down reaction time, this is also true fro coming compatible/ merging with other tech anything larger then a car will reduce his reaction time to a useless level.

his equipment is any weapon he can make from memory and has the material to make it (the nanobots have a small pocket dimension (less then 1m cubed) to carry material).

the company wanted to test him without being limited by health and safety precautions so they sold him to mercenaries and are tracking his process with censors in his body, but what the company didn't expect is that once sold the nanobots deconstructed these sensors, so the company has no idea were he is now.
the only thing else I want to say is that the alien core itself is a tool for gathering information so while doing all this he will also try to gather as much information as he can. This is all I have planned out for this character for certain so you (gm) can decide if you want to use any of this as a plot device and were this core comes form.
hope you like it :)

Im restricted to a reliable but likely-to-crash iPod(paradox?). It doesn't crash as long as I don't surf too many pages in one sitting, so don't worry. I'll be adding to the sheet and updating regularly to avoid losing all my progress in it's creation. I'll try do do it all in this one sitting, here goes:

Name: Hexis

Gender: Male

Age: 27 (he sat around a few years thinking and hunting, then joined. Allipods age like humans)

Race: A group of bipeds known as the Allipods of planet wrollud. The allipods accompany themselves with the arthropoda that live in their lands, using them as companions, transport, livestock and food. They have an arthropod equivalent of most creatures of other planets. Take earth as an example, they have giraffes, the allipods have the stumph, a giant equivalent to the harvestman spider, which uses it's long legs, as opposed to neck, to reach high leaves in trees, and the odd unfortunate tree-dwelling creature. The stumph is used for transport.
The allipods are monotremes, primitive mammals that lay eggs and feed their young on milk. They are bald, except for their head, upon which grows a may of wiry hair in the case of males, and some backward growing wiry hair in the case of females. They have two large, compound eyes on the front of their face and two smaller ones at either side, which watch for shadows and outlines, while the front eyes see in great detail. They have small, round ears at about the same level of sensitivity as a human. Their jaw is like a humans, but their mouths do not have lips. Their smell and touch is poor, mostly due to lack of a prominent nose and thick skin.
People say that the reason allipods have compound eyes is because of their old rituals, in which the race would take parts from powerful arthropoda in hopes of gaining that quality for themselves. Legend tells that one night, the head sorceress of the original tribe took the eyes and temples of it's members, and replaced them with those of the ula wasp, a revered hive insect of wrullud. The tribespeople awoke to find their faces "violated", and only then saw the truth, the sorceress had done it. The ungrateful tribespeople murdered her, her spirit rose from her body and said:
"Fools! You do not think, and realise, for I have given you the truth! You saw to whom credit was due, yet you did not give!"
Then, with a flick of her wrist, she punished the tribespeople be taking the gift of knowledge from them, leaving them with eyes that only see the world around them. The allipod tribe then continued to breed and work, eventually building the empire as it is seen today. The eye bacame part of them forever, but the legend tells it does more.
This legend spawned many things. Matriarchy. The allipods are in debt to women for what they did to the sorceress. Arthro-connection. A surgical operation fusing parts of arthropoda to the bodies of allipods in hope of gaining their power. Religion. The allipods worship the sorceress "Druquidia" in hopes of forgiveness. She is seen as the creator of them all. An origin point to which they are all joined. this religion is called "Path of truth".
The allipods mostly use magic and blades, they range in size from 4ft 6 to 7ft 1, although either extreme is rare. Allipod magic is unique and takes the form of green, buzzing lights that exit through the arms and eat through material. Allipod females are normally more versed in magic and acedemic skills than males.
Allipods have little political interests or economic ideas for other planets. They value loyalty and huntsmanship. When allipods met humans, they thought they may be similar to what they used to look like, and so often call them "lucky losers" as they never got to see the truth, but never disgraced themselves by killing the sorceress.

Equipment: A large, black, home-made crossbow with a scope. Thermal bolts made from heated rebar. A short sword made of chitin. Frag grenades.

Skills: Marksmanship
Explosives
Repair

Rank: general crew

Appearance: Grey-blue skin, large compound eyes on the front of his face, small White ones at either side of the head in what would be temple-area for a human. He has small mandibles fused to his lower jaw. They are non-functional. 3-digit hands and feet, good for gripping walls like a weevil. Hexaduct is 5 feet tall and bald. He has a tail for balance purposes which is about half the length of his body. Hex's has been pierced at it's end(intentionally) by defensive chitin thorns.

Personality: Hypervigilant. Or paranoid, dependabt on your point of view. Always thinking of home and comparing things to it. Slow to trust, hard to know. You'll know his habits, but never why they exist. Fiercely loyal, or would you say clingy?

History: Hexis is the 6th born of eight brothers and sisters. The allipods being a race dedicated to combat prowess and lone survival, Hexis received combat training as part of his education. Unlike most other allipod peers of his, he found he was better with ranged attacks as opposed to short blades. He was always a little smaller than other allipods, so physical work in forges and mines later in life was never an option for him. He would continue to be the black sheep when accompanied by other allipods, so he decided he'd go down the mercenary group. When it came to a decision between a ship named weeping duchess, one named stranger things, and another called anguished cry, he went for the most optimistic one.
He never cared much for religion since he was enlightened by a human scientist he spoke with after saving him and his crew from the "fascinating arthropoda" of his planet. Evolution was explained. And it made a whole lotta sense. However, shit just works, apparently, sooo...
He learned some mechanic skills working as a repairman on the ship Hardy Onyx, which he worked on from 19 to 23. He worked primarily as repairman (then again so did everyone, the ship was falling to bits within the first year). The ship was a courier mainly, passing messages from planet to planet passing messages and being hit by raidersand meteor showers. Lots of meteor showers.

Finished.

Circumstances have made computer access difficult for the last several weeks. Suffice to say I -will- return and this RP -will- begin. However, it may take some time. After the new year, my problems should abate and I can return in my full glory, at least for a time. For now, I'd just like to request you all are patient. This is as frustrating to me as it is to you.

Name- Maxis
Gender- Male
Age- 67
Race- Crysite, a silicone based life form. The Crysite have no interior bone structure, instead using their large stone-like exoskeleton to support and protect themselves, shedding it for a new one every ten years. While not immobile, they Crysite are not particularly agile either. They stand on average at a massive 7 feet, with a greyish skin colouring. The Crysite are fairly humanoid, though they are closer to arachnids in terms of evolution. Longlived, the Crysite can live for over a millenium, though they average out around 900 years They have faces similar to humans, though they do not change, and are used simply as a visage. The largest difference is in their limbs, the Crysite have two pairs of arms and legs, one large set with 3 fingers, used for heavier skills, like lifting objects, or shooting. Their 7 fingered smaller set is used for the more agile skills, such as typing, or fixing electronics. The second pair of legs is used simply for additionale support. The Crysite have no theology, believing heavily on science and logic rather than on faith. This has come about by having a very heavily science-focussed society for the past several decimillenia.

Equipment:
Crysitic force gun- propels a highly focused and powerful force, generating a pressure of 7MPa over a half square centimeter area, up to half a kilometer away. Long recharge time
Greathammer- Warhammer with a large head, held in both hands by Maxis to be swung with great force.
Lewis Machine gun- Used when the Force gun is being recharged and enemies are still fairly far away, Maxis can use the machine gun in order to keep enemies away.

Skills: Maxis has more of a science focused mind. He is skilled in Astronomy, Physics and the computing sciences. If he can get a chair that is built to support a Crysite, he is an extremely effective pilot.

Position on ship: Pilot, can assist in cyber warfare if necessary

Rank: Crew

Appearance: Maxis stands at the Crysitic average of 7 feet exactly and weighs around 500 pounds. His 'face' appears cold and unforgiving. He wears a pressed black shirt with a double buttoned white overcoat, with black pants, making him look even more formal than he already does. All over his body, he has long striations and gashes on his exoskeleton(see history). Due to the nature of his body, he has no hair, and the feel of his skin is that of an inanimate object.

Personality: Contrary to his appearance, Maxis is fairly humourous and is a great verbal sparring partner. That is, if you can get him to open up, Maxis happens to be quite quiet, letting others speak so he doesn't have to, and prefers to speak to people in a 1-on-1 setting than a group setting. Maxis is polite, almost to a fault, and has a honour code that he constantly follows. He doesn't care too much for laws, though he has a strict no-violence unless necessary policy. Maxis is extremely loyal, unless something happens that breaks his trust, where it is then extremely difficult to reattain his trust.

History: Maxis is a natively born Crysite, a rare thing for his generation. He was raised in an academic, learning advanced mathamatics, Astronomy and high-level physics at an early age, and the Human and Elvish languages a few years later. When he turned 18, he joined a berth as a training pilot for the starship Stone Wolf. After several years on the ship, he managed to become a full-time pilot, learning all the tricks of the trade. The crew of the Wolf used to joke that he could fly the ship through a needle head if given enough preparation.

When he was 27, the Stone Wolf was captured by the Culyar, and he was forced to work in the iron mines, plotting and waiting and all the while fearing the Dark Elven taskmaster's whips. He working in the various mines- iron, salt and coal- for thirty five years. Where he then managed to escape due to laxity on his taskmaster's part. Maxis had feigned submission like all the other slaves, but in secret, had slowly been breaking down his chains and studying the schedules of the taskmasters. When the time was right, he broke his bonds and escaped, fleeing to the stardock, where he stole a ship and flew back out into Aulniran territory. That was five years ago, now, he serves aboard Stranger Things as her pilot, using he skills that he hadn't used in over 3 decades to help his captain and crew. Despite his time on the ship, he has adamantly refused to be promoted, even telling the captain to get bent on more than one occasion. He doesn't want to do any paperwork, and would rather fly than order people around.
