Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, pretty much pick a movie by the Coens. As for strangest? That's tough so I'll just close my eyes and pick.. Barton Fink.

I don't think I would call it a comedy. Sure, it's funny, but I think it's more tragic than comical. Or you could just say it's very very dark comedy.

OT: The Scary Movies are all pretty strange. They're funniness is debatable, but they are strange.

I hadn't really thought of it as a tragedy but I see what you did there so in summation I'll remove it from the table and go back to Barton Fink, though it's pretty dark too (I like my humor dark, twisted and sometimes scary, heheh)

Personally, I think A Serious Man was probably the strangest comedy that I've ever seen. It was funny, but you couldn't exactly explain why.

It's by this comedian Peter Serafinowicz. You can see alot of his stuff on youtube, just type him in He also did an hilarious series called Look Around You which was an intelligent ripping off of 1970's and 80's educational videos for schools. He's mainly on BBC 3 I think. He worked with some people from Peep Show aswell.
