Apologies if this has been posted, but I didn't see it (it's probably been buried due to ME3 threads, as will this)
It turns out Capcom have decided they'll shovel an absolute arseton of DLC onto the disc of SF/T. I'm not sure what goes on in Capcom land, but I'd hate to be there. They seem to think that they write fantastic stories, have a flawless track record, and apparently EA are the leading light in business.

EDIT: I should've said- the DLC stuff isn't a problem for PS3/Vita owners, but it looks like 360 owners will have to pay. Whoops, takoshima.

Sucks to be an Xbox 360 owner.

To be fair I wasn't buying this anyway, I'm just adding words to avoid a low content post.

Why do customers partake in console wars?

Oh yeah, because companies do.

To be honest, while I love my XBOX360, I only use it for exclusives. All of the overlapping titles between the XBOX360 and PlayStation 3, I get the PlayStation 3 version of. I tend to assume that since the PlayStation 3 has slightly beefier hardware, the load times won't be so bad. I could be wrong, though.

In other news, Capcom are turning into trolls, sorta. Keiji Inafune, Megaman Legends 3, various other things, it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I still love Capcom. But these are definitely weird times for a fan.

I don't know much about this game. Are they poking fun at the Mega Man fans again?

Anyway, after all the content on SRtT, I'm having trouble singling Capcom out here as an offender.

Fanboyism is as old as time. There used to be fanboy wars between states of matter: whether it was made up of atoms or some sort of continuous fluid.

That's offsetted by the fact the PS3 uses blu ray, which is slower than DVD.

OT: That sucks for 360 players. Good thing I was gonna get the PS3 version anyway ^_^

Oh, wow. This is a pretty big fuck you to consumers.

I'm worried that I actually find bullshit of this magnitude mildly surprising coming from Capcom.

Honestly, who is really surprised?

I dont really care about SFxT as much as i did MvC3, but even then if i thought it was worth it id buy it. It being on-disc just means i dont have to sit through a long download.

Wow...
i nearly pre-ordered this today... ive been getting a little easy with my money over the past couple of weeks... but even so i cant support this kind of practice... withholding content ive payed for, and charging extra to access it later... no.

Isn't capcom going to release the ultra mega version a month later anyway? Anyone who preorders that on any system is getting ripped off.

Wow, glad I swore off Capcom after they announced UMvC3. This is disgusting.

You know how everyone says "speak with your wallet"?

I went a step further. I filed a formal complaint against Capcom with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) for their misleading and dishonest business practices.

They are selling this, and prior on-disc content, as "DLC" when you actually have everything on your purchased disc. You are NOT downloading anything when you pay them for their DLC. That is false advertising at its core and it is ILLEGAL.

So I filed a complaint. I encourage others to do the same. It doesn't take much time at all. Capcom may not be the only ones doing this, but they're by far the worst when it comes to on-disc DLC, and I've had enough.

You don't sell someone an apple at a store and call it an orange, and you can't sell people content they already own on their discs as "DLC".

File a complaint, or, I guess, let them set a precedent that allows them to arbitrary lock nearly 1/3rd of the entire game away unless you pay them a hidden fee to unlock it.

What surprises me is that if this was Mass Effect, Halo, Asscreed or anything like that, everyone would've gone mad. But people don't seem to be fussed really. This is, on the whole disgusting! Xbox owners get about 70% of a game for absolutely no reason. No hardware limitations, no MS policy whinging or anything.

Fucking Capcom, whatEVER will they do next

Ok, to everyone who argued with me concerning the Mass Effect 3 day one DLC - did I or did I not say Capcom were worse for this practice?

I think I shall now take a victory sip from my coffee...
