Lately my cool-down game has been GTA 4. I can jump in a car, drive around and listen to music, and blow off steam - not to mention punch people (at random) in the face. RIGHT IN THE FACE!
The GTA games are great like that. XD

Relaxing: Super Mario Sunshine. I loved the colorful graphics, and it was so much fun to hop around Delfino testing out your FLUDD attachments. One of my favorite Gamecube games.

Stressfull: Mortal Kombat 2 on PSN. I've never played the 2D MK games before, but I wasn't bad at the 3D versions, and I've heard great things about it, so I decided to buy it. I mean, who can resist buying a game for 5 bucks? Terrible mistake. I couldn't even beat Johnny fucking Cage, the very first opponent, on the easiest difficulty level. After 30 minutes of yelling at my ps3, I never touched the game again. What a waste of 5 bucks.

Braid - Maybe hard from time to time, but since things rarely get hectic and there's no panelty for what you do, it's among the most relaxing games i played.

Also, the entirety of GTA, especially when the inevitable happens and you are somewhere stuck in nowhere and you have to run back to the city. Thankfully, it's quite awesome when the muffled noises of the faraway city transform back into "street-noise"

When i am thinking of stressful, Geometry Wars (1, Retro Evolved, Retro Evolved 2) immediatly comes to mind

I'd forgotten about Gmod. I play it a fair bit, and as long as you keep a mod or mingebag killer handy you're in for a fail-free time.

Fail is not fun. Or at least, not normally. That said, some of my spectacular deaths in GTA recently made me crack up.

The only circus level IN the game is the Meat Circus at the end. The first level is the Colonel's, the battlefield.

This makes me sound like a bit of an anti social, but playing local multiplayer games really riles me up. For some reason my massive competetiveness never kicks in on line, but its awful on split screen, leaving me totally on edge and paranoid of defeat even if I'm ten kills up with three seconds to go. I swear, every ten minute split screen multi session shortens my life by a year due to stress.

Stressful: Battle field B company. Its all of those stupid battles between you and tanks mainly because they know were you are at all times. Now that I think about that's pretty much how every enemy acts around you. If the game didn't have such amazing lines then the game would suck.

Relaxing: Battle for middle earth. That's the game I have been playing when I get really fed up with B company. If the internet is working then I play guild wars.

Stressful- Anything with shitty platforming IE all games made in the late 90's.
Haha! You are wrong! Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exodus were both puzzle platformers (as pigeonholed by people who "don't get it"), neither of which contain shitty platforming. However, Oddysee was far more stressful due to a lack of quicksave. Exodus was a dream to play. Any ranked online game is also stressful once you reach your 'skill cap'.

As for relaxing, let's say Spiderman 2. Webslinging down Broadway is amazing; it's really easy to keep yourself going without smacking into anything, especially if you go with the flow.

lots of replies here so sorry if i copy off someone. for most relaxing game i'd say endless ocean (totally not gay ;) ) and for stressful i'd say call of duty 2 online. I hate those stupid snipers (along with the hackers, trench gun weilders, etc.)!

I found that the Orange Box contained both.

Half-Life 2 stresses me out, and Portal calms me down

She's just so dense and naive! And her voice is absurd!

And she wears those stupid shoes!

Is there even a cutscene where she doesn't speak? I'm not sure about if there is or not, as I went away to make a sandwich on every single cutscene.
I refuse to play Eternal Sonata anymore.

Stress inducing: The shoddy camera angles in Metal Gear Solid 3
Stress releiving: Jumping down from the rooftops and cutting down on the heads of unwary samurai in Tenchu Z

No, we're talking about the really simple trapeze themed obstacle course against the really slow rising water with his father throwing slow moving burning jugglers bats at him.
The one with the perpetually moving camera and the 10 leaps of faith and mid-air twists against the clock?
