Oddly enough no mention of Darkest Dungeon yet, a game where stress is literally part of the game mechanics. Your party is down to 30% health, all have afflictions, you're out of torches, food and healing items, but you only have 4 more rooms to go... can you make it...

and then the RNG bends you over and fucks you up the ass with a 3 ft horse dildo.

Games don't have to be stressful. They should relieve stress. I prefer small games, http://www.friv4online.com/ . Play is fun and can trigger the release of endorphins, the body?s natural feel-good chemicals. Improve brain function. The social interaction of playing with family and friends can also help ward off stress and depression.Stimulate the mind and boost creativity. They should The option of free online games comes as a pleasant breather for the overworked folks in today's hectic schedule.

So Evolve just went free to play and while I've enjoyed playing it again, since it is fun. It is also one of the most stressful games I've ever played, to the point where I no longer want to bother starting it up.

It's just feels like your doomed no mater what roll you play before you start it up. If your a hunter it feels like the monster can just take you out, if your the monster it feels like you will die against a team (despite the fact I usually win as the monster).

What are some games you want to like but just stress you out too much to play?
That was EXACTLY the game I was about to mention.

As Hunters, the game is fine. It's difficult, it's a bit stressful, but it doesn't feel unfair, unless the monster is so good they somehow manage to evade you the entire game until stage 3 in which case you're fucked.

As Monster, though? I HATE playing as monster. I run and run and hide and run and stealth and I always feel like the hunters are on my ass. In fact, the usually are. No matter how far I run, no matter how much I try to juke them, they are always just one step behind me and I can't possibly keep far enough away from them to reach stage 3 where I have a strong shot at winning. In outright combat, I'm not bad, I usually leave a dome with one enemy hunter down. But they're always right behind me and it drives me bananas.

I still like the game and I do enjoy playing hunter (especially Trapper), but I just CAN'T play monster to save my life. :s

What I hate is time limits, though. Any of 'em. Screw 'em. Don't need 'em. Limiting potential funsies is always a sin.
But... Fallout has time limits... ?

It hardly prevents me from playing it, but there is no game made that is half as stressful as FUCKING HEARTHSTONE. God...damn...piece of shit...RNG fuckery...bullshit...************...
How's about that turn 10 C'thun that just completely wipes up everything, fam?

Pretty much any competitive multiplayer game. The knowledge that I am responsible for the entertainment of someone else makes me feel under such pressure that I don't feel comfortable playing.
This for me as well. Of course, there's a wide range of games and each one has its own conditions- if I'm playing Planetside 2, where there can be literally more than one hundred people on each side of a fight, my own screwups probably won't have much of an effect- but when you start getting more personal, like the 12v12 fights in MechWarrior Online, then it starts getting uncomfortable.

I couldn't manage CS:GO's 5v5 games, or any sort of MOBA.

I know. Even Fallout is imperfect because of this. Mind you, the original games had a workaround. If you were in combat mode, time passed much slower. So, any occasion where gas might kill you or there was a bomb that's gonna go off and kill everything, you got through via this method because no time was wasted. This is NOT possible in newer games, of course, so running from Elijah's detonation in the last leg of Dead Money is a big stress inducer.

Papers Please. Never really clocked many hours or beat it because of this. Though it's more a testament to how much it can effect a person than it being bad.

Not to mention you can buy an extension to the water chip time limit(which is already fairly generous to begin with) and after that is there is no time limit(the original version of the game had a Time limit after you found the water chip until the Super Mutants found and overran the vault, which was affected by whether or not you bought the water chip extension). But again, FO1 isn't big enough for it to really matter, so unless you were really dicking around(and you can't even level up that much so grinding isn't even a factor here) you'd probably never even notice.

C'THUN? I want a crack at your time machine, son. Ain't no one worried about C'thun. "Turn 10" he says. If the Zoo Warlock didn't crack your ass open by turn five, the Hunter dropped double Call of the Win on turn 8 and 9 and sealed the deal.

Heh, no time machine, I just play at very low ranks. Don't see many Zoolocks, though Hunters always annoy me. Priests still infuriate me the worst, though. So much removal.

(Admittedly, I use C'thun far more often than people I play against these days, since they removed half of the cards I've got from Standard play.)

Funny how the ones you fight later are complete bitches.
Yeah, when I found out there were Capra demons as common enemies in the demon ruins, I was anxious. Turns out I needn't have worried and now watching them go down faster then a cheap hooker is immensely satisfying. So much catharsis there.

Poking them to death with a Halberd is so satisfying.

Hell, the Halbred is so satisfying to use in that whole demon infested part of the game. Makes it worth not using a shield to 2 hand it.

Outlast. It has me on edge constantly while I play it. I need a spa and a Xanax afterward.
So much ^this. I loved the first hour or two of Outlast, but I couldn't take it anymore. I felt they really captured the survival horror genre, just a little TOO well. I keep telling myself I'm going to finish it and the DLC one day, but every time I go to bring the game up on my Xbox, those glowing green eyes and evil toothy peering at me through that grainy camera filter sends chills down my spine. That's when I play Goat Simulator instead.
