Sounds like what happens in inFAMOUS you can do neutral but it's the weakest of the 3 (good neutral evil) sicne they have thier own skill an added effects on everything else.

I have nothing against real psychology, the stuff that actually makes perfect sense and is proved by repetitive correlation. But alot of the the other 'theories' are completely buried in nonsense and speculation.
That's what a theory is?
Theory has grounding in fact, these are more akin to a hypothesis.
Ah, my mistake then.

Really dont see how this can be measured so easilly, so im going to take it with a pinch of salt.

But, if this is true then goes to prove why goodguy always wins in the end, lol
The good guys are genuinely good, the evil ones just greedy. If the evil one were true evil, like prototype evil, then the results may differ.
LIAR! Good guys, psh. I've seen what those you consider good do. My brother saw as well, last thing he ever did see... random mook #2473 do you remember him! DO YOU ASSHOLE! No, you don't even have a clue.

Good... yeah right.

The team found that those who were charitable could keep the weight up for an average of ten seconds longer than those who kept the money.

People have different muscle strengths and staminas, I don't think making an average of peoples strengths would really be that accurate.

As weird as the methodology sounds, I'm not about to second guess a bunch of Harvard psychologists.
Why not Question them, a bunch of Harvard psychologists can make mistakes too!
I would have to know more about these experiments before I can believe this, not just because it's hard to believe, but on how they ran the experiments.
They may be Researchers at Harvard, but it still seems.......like they're missing something.
Thank you for saying this so I don't have to. Statements like "I'm not about to second guess a bunch of Harvard psychologists" are exactly why they can get away with this kind of research, no matter how crazy the outcome. "Never mind the confusion between correlation and causation - we went to Harvard, goddammit!"

I can almost guarantee that this actually works the OTHER WAY ROUND. Stronger people tend to be pushier, whether they're pushy in a righteous sense or pushy in a bullying sense. Once again, the first thing any Psych course will teach you: correlation does not necessarily mean causation.

Sadly the major flaw in this research seems to be defining what implies what. I dont know the details of the study but for me it would seem that people physically stronger have it easier to be firm in their moral choices as well, while a physically weaker person would be more neutral to avoid possible conflicts.

There are a lot of things that are seriously wrong with that study, and way too many variables to factor in to be that conclusive. This sounds like something a middle school child would do.

This reminds me of that TV show Numb3rs, where one character tells another about the ice cream-rape correlation: As the sales of ice cream goes up, so do the number of rapes. (The key is both take place during summer.)

Sadly, this article is poorly worded, and people are quick to shoot down anyone credited with intelligence to make themselves appear smarter.

"Psychologists claim extreme moral actions may increase people's capacity for willpower and physical endurance."

It does not say, "You will get buff if you give to charity," it does not say, "moral thoughts are a pre-requisite for strength," and it does not say, "this is absolutely true in ever instance until the end of time."

Unfortunately, the Social Psychological and Personality Science journal is fairly new and even highlights the facts that they fast track interesting articles and are interested in popular media publication as their selling points. So it's hardly the most reputable place to be published. But the study found a link, and now it's up to other scientists, in scientific environments, performing scientific experiments, to confirm or disprove this finding. It is not the domain of internets expertz running around kicking puppies and then trying lift a volkswagon, nor is it for the college elite who just aced their psych 101 final to parrot, "Correlation is not causation."

But if we are bad, we might end up looking like ole' Ben Kenobi in that picture! Yeesh, he doesn't look so good.

And now that I'm on the subject, bring us Battlefront 3 dammit!

Willpower. Strong willed, single minded individuals will of course have more stamina than the average person, makes sense.

On Topic: Yes that is very interesting. The battle between good and evil begins with experiments.

Strong will correlates with physical strength, News at 11.

Old news is so exciting.

Oh, I'm sure I could come up with more of these but I really don't care. I'm just wondering how this sort of common knowledge required a Harvard study to confirm it. I guess it was an easy A for whoever did this.

Though, I suppose this qualifies as ground breaking news to anyone with low moral standards or just plain weak wills.

Well I will. It's a pretty basic fallacy: correlation does not imply causation.

Also, who says giving a dollar to charity means you're more moral than if you kept it? And writing a story with an wrong-doing protagonist means you are more evil yourself? Huh?
