For when it came out, does have some nice draw distances but the mechanics are like the, by today's standards, broken older Tomb Raider games. Back then it was a big deal to not rag doll on simple jumps. Now that we have Assassin's Creed, rebooted Tomb Raider and Uncharted, I can't see going back. In these new games, the character is good at what they do: acrobatic jumping and climbing. They move so fluidly. Speaking of which, there are 2 or 3 Tomb Raider games that came out before the reboot. May try them to see if they were on the right track by then.Blitsie said:Oh oh! That one was the Fate of Atlantis! Infernal Machine was the horribly tanky one haha. Here's the vid I found during my nostalgia trip today;Gorfias said:I think it was Emperor's Tomb. I think Machine was a point and click PC adventure. Just saw there's one for the Wii. $20 at Amazon. Very tempted.
God.damn. did it not age well hahaha.
I faintly recall the Wii one, I never played it but it always looked like a decent spiritual successor to Emperor's Tomb in terms of gameplay. Gosh I remember at one stage they made a big ruckus about Indy coming to the PS3 and X360 as well but that also just got canned and never to be heard of again.
Tempted to never do so again myself. I'm catching myself rebuying games for PC that I already have on console as the PC is better in many ways. But then I hear that the Scorpio is expected to outperform the GTX 1070 in a $1,200 machine. Being a graphics whore of the first order, I may have to get it for my 65" 4K TV. Particularly if it has a price point of about $450. That's the cost of the card alone. And if my missus saw a full on gaming rig PC hooked up to the family 4K? I'd be a dead man. She is unlikely to even notice a new Xbox. As long as it is black.Squilookle said:Ahh the original Xbox. The console that put me off buying a console ever again..
I bought it because Microsoft had just bought Rare, and I expected more stellar games like Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day and Diddy Kong Racing. What a waste of money it turned out to be
