I stabbed a kid with a pencil once.
I got arrested.

The point of sharing that is this: Schools are off their fucking rockers. Slap the girls' hands away from her phone and put her in detention, if you must.
Being stabbed with a pencil fucking sucks. I know. I have a sociopath as a best friend =\

Butterknives aren't fun to be stabbed with either, but at least that didn't puncture the skin

In my opinion this is a breach of her constitutional rights.

given how litigious the US is I'm surprised she's not suing the school and the police force. Frisking someone's 'buttocks' is sexual harassment. Moreover, it's a gross violation of police force as they had nothing but suspicion of an event that would not actually constitute a crime.

lol. that happens alot around me.

Well my experiences are more like a massive badass in my year vs a new automotive teacher. I seriously though that they were gonna start a punch-on...................

I personally prefer the bucket tactic...

First phone that goes off, the student (with the phone) must fetch a bucket.

Second phone that goes off, the student must fill the bucket with water.

Third phone that goes off goes for a swim.

This also applies to the teacher...

And to be quite honest I relay wonder why kids turn up to class when they have no intention of doing any work.

Okay after reading the report I understand why the police arrested her for lying to them etc etc but the real question is why are the police required to be come involved in a simple classroom discipline matter?

Well, talk about disciplinary action. I think we have found the cure for people who misbehave. However, I do have to say, that

1.The girl kind of deserved it. Stupid little Sl*t
2.An arrest was a tiny bit too far.

I'm fine with it, about damn time teachers are able to deal with these snot nosed brats once again.
I agree. The teachers just have no power if the kid doesn't care. All they can do is ask them to stop again. This is why I could never be a teacher. I would just end up beating the shit out of my students on the first day.

Well how about teachers hit em where it hurts? THE GRADES! Flunk theese little bastards, i think its fair. If you don't come to class, youre grades suffer. Texting is about the same deal, imo.

QTF.

Btw, what's so hard about installing jammers inside the school? That would fix any and all problems with cellphones. If you want to talk/text, go outside.
Oh ho ho, can't do that, because what happens if there's an emeeeergency? Cellphones are ridiculous. It's like people have totally forgotten how people managed before their existence. I'm surprised, and relieved, at how most people are reacting to this. Restores a tiny bit of my faith in humanity (lololol).

Also, what that one dude said about assholes driving while on their phones. That shit is ridiculous.

well, the parents definitely played a part, but you cant blame JUST bad parenting (mine were about as bad a combo as is possible as i never thought about fighting anyone for a phone, hell the only time i ever even GOT a working cell phone i have a sneaking suspicion that spies were involved, and i asked to not have it renewed)
the solution isnt beating it into them (not to say we shouldnt get to beat the crap out of them as our reward for not poisoning/stabbing/shooting them) its actually educating them, and using relevant punishments that serve to tell someone WHY they did something wrong, and not just inflict seemingly arbitrary pain and suffering, but this leads back to the whole "stupid people shouldnt be parents" thing, at least the rest of you sane people have the pleasure of having people your own age who arent retarded. im 18. i may as well move off to the mountains and get old as quick as possible. maybe become a ninja or something.

I spent four years in high school trying my hardest to not pay attention and I think I'm a better person because of it. (mostly because the school that I attended made you dumber every day)

But I say that hiding your phone/DS/PSP is an art form and once you're caught, you lose and you're done for that class. This girl got caught and should have paid the price of learning that lesson.

But, I thank that teacher for getting the fear back. Even if it's just in his class. Hopefully the rest of the teenage vermin in his class will pay attention now....Or at least try harder to not get caught =)

Well, she hardly deserved being arrested or charged with a crime, but at the same time, obey your goddamned teacher you little skank *****! WTF is with all these misbehaving little shits? Has parenting gone so far down the drain that this is what children have become?
While I wouldn't have used such colorful language, I'm glad to see the first post is dead on the money.

I won't say I was the perfect teen, but I respected teachers (Except for one...but he was SUCH an jerk-off that no-one, not even other teachers, respected him. He eventually got fired) because my parents taught me respect...and reinforced it with good 'ol fashioned spanking.
THAT is what needs to be brought back. Spanking.
It worked for generations and now suddenly it's damaging to a kid's psyche. Screw that. It taught me what I could and could not do, it taught be that there were consequences for my (inappropriate) actions, and it taught me respect for authority.

Whoops, teeny rant there.
Anyways, I think she deserved it. Arresting and all. If you're going to take the power of authority away from teachers, then who has the job of discipline? Kids know that teachers can't do anything, but the police certainly can! I like it. If kids want to be treated like adults, then arrest 'em like adults.

things like this are ridiculous i cannot believe they actually arrested her i mean shes obviously a ***** but those are not grounds to arrest someone on she did nothing that should ever go to court wasting precious time and resources that could be better used for more important cases come on THINK FGTS before you act this is absolutely retarded who the fuck was in charge of this and an i get them on the phone? i mean really i would LOVE to give that asshole a piece of my mind

this brings to mind another retarded case
i don't have the article but in that case someone was sued for writing a book that was too harsh (child rape murder etc) apparently she was very descriptive but come on wtf happened to free speech its just a book ffs didnt even have any pictures

the whole thing with law these days is really getting out of hand something needs to be done people are using the police and court for things that don't need to every trouble anyone but the people it was between the real criminals here are the assholes clogging up our criminal justice system not the people committing the "crimes"

I'm not saying they should be there, but parents just don't seem to set boundaries anymore, they just let their kids have free reign over everything

That costs money..schools barely have enough of that as it is and it's better spent on stuff like...books...
