Talking about the people around me:
- R&B. It hurts my ears. Most popular music in general actually.
- Getting drunk. Everyone here almost boasts about how smashed they were the last weekend, I just look down on them with pity.
- Crocs and flip-flops. Almost everyone around me wears either one of them (or worse: both) at some point. Crocs just look abominable, absolutely vile, and I just don't get flip-flops. The damned things can barely be considered foot-wear, plus they make an annoying sound when people walk on them.
- The popular image of women. Yeah you all know what I mean, the sticks-with-balloons. I prefer my girls with healthy curves, thank you very much, why the hell does everyone around me consider that "fat" already?! Idiots...
- Smoking. The majority of the people around my age smoke around here, I can't stand it.
- The quiet village/rural life. People around here like all the small-town stuff, everyone being so close, everyone knows everyone. I hate it, despise it no less. There is mássive social control, you can't do anything without the whole village knowing about it a few days later. I long for the city life, but there are no real cities in Holland. Just big villages.
