About the only thing I can think of is finding several LPers because of games. Other than that I can't think of anything.

Brutal Legend introduced me properly to rock and heavy metal, so that's cool.
Shame the rest of the game was mostly underwhelming, but the soundtrack was awesome.

Quite a few things:

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 got me to admire Michael Jackson's music.
Assassin's Creed 2 got me interested in learning Italian.
Bioshock got me interested in human rights and politics concerning big businesses.
The Pokemon series has always helped increase my vocabulary: Synthesis, Covet, Facade, Scald, etc.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 got me to research Japanese folklore and legends.

Mostly music. Skold, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Cypress Hill, Pitchshifter, among others were made known to me through various video games. :D
Twisted Metal = Rob Zombie

I love how you can actually play him in the Dragula in TM4.

Haha same, I felt that was a really cool homage. He was a decent character too, funnily enough. That Special let you snare people for nasty S-Combos. Calypso's Nuke attack being a good example. :D

Man... I miss those games :(

As a kid I used to cheat and use Minion all of the time XD

It's funny when you think about it, but pretty much all the bands I like I have found through video games. (Well, a lot of them anyway)

By playing Max Payne 2 I discovered Poets of the Fall.

Playing Tales of the Abyss opened my eyes to Bump of Chicken.

Smackdown vs. Raw got me into Breaking Benjamin.

And the first Kamelot song I heard was from a DMC3 Crazy Combo video.

Not to mention all the fantastic original soundtracks from many different games I enjoy.

"Skyrim" got me into loudly shouting at people.

Oh no wait...being from New York did that.

Actually, the "Assassin's Creed" games got me into parkour. But I have yet to try any Leaps of Faith...

My two favourite franchises are Assassin's Creed & Total War...

Would you care to hazard a guess what they've gotten me interested in?

...

-_-
It's boobs isn't it? Of course it's boobs.

Great big stonking historically accurate boobs.

Or maybe just the history part.

I started reading Dante's inferno because of Dante's inferno. Good book
I started reading the Tale of Ganji because of one of the questions in Persona 3. Another good book and is the most classic book around, age wise anyway. Thing was written about 1000 years ago.
I had never heard of Lisa Miskovsky if I hadn't played Mirror's Edge.

Me too. Games aren't that kind of fun anymore for me. Even the new Twisted Metal that recently came out wasn't magical in anyway really. :|

Psh, Minion was balanced compared to Sweet Tooth. He was beyond imbalanced. xD
I think I am remembering TM2 Minion who wasn't normally playable. His special destroyed everything!

I haven't played the newest one, but I haven't really enjoyed any of them post-TW4.

Well, there's tonnes of music that I won't bother listing.

I read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand because of Bioshock
I read Romance of the Three Kingdoms because of Dynasty Warriors. The book then got me to buy Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI(the game, not the 11th book, there isn't an 11th book.)

I learned an awful lot about Various mythologies from various games like Age of Mythology and God of War (which no doubt means half of it is incorrect but whatever.)

I read "And then there were none" because of the theme song "U.N. Owen was her?", which is the theme of Flandre Scarlet in Touhou, a game I still haven't played.

How I got from that song to the book, is a bit harder to explain. The best way to explain it will be that I found out that the theme song and an attack that Flandre does, probably is inspired from that book. Then I read a plot description (kinda like those on the back of the book), and I figured that the book sounded awesome. And it was!
