Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

"Oh, look. a Michael Cera movie where he plays a sexually frustrated everyman who ends up with a woman much more attractive than him through comical circumstancesSWEET DANCING TUESDAY, THIS MOVIE IS FREAKING AWESOME."

Fun action sequences, a ton of shout-outs, Mae friggin' Whitman... and Cera gets punched in the face multiple times. Good cinema.
Couldn't have put it better myslef. Great film, so good it made me overlook the fact that Michael Cera cannot act and is genuinely unlikeable. :p

The 2008 cinematic version of Hairspray. I thought it would be crap, but it turned out to be both funny and intelligent--it's because of that movie that I no longer reach for the nearest crucifix when I see a picture of Zach Effron.

ALSO: Warhammer 40k. It's a riot, as it turns out.

the usual brand of American comedies we're subjected to in Britain is whatever Channel 4 can afford
usually some shite like Friends, Will and Grace, two and a half men or Everbody loves Raymond
You know, this made me think of a question. Are there ever British remakes of American comedies? I've seen American remakes of Britcoms, and they are just awful.
I think there's one or two, but generally no. See, we realize that there's no point, since we speak the same language.

Quantum physics, seriously, this came out of the blue. I wasn't what you'd call 'studious', though I do possess enough intelligence to know that I don't know everything. Quantum physics inspired me to learn and hungrily devour every bit of knowledge I could sink my brain into.

Started college this year after putting it off for a couple of years and I tested well enough to have the prerequisites for graduation already aquired. So that's good, and coupled with my first semester's GPA of a 4.0 I think I am on the way...to something. Still have no clue as to what I want to do, but at least I can do something.

All thanks to something that I had no previous knowledge or interest in. I mean seriously, my high school class score was 216 out of 276. NOT GOOD! and I really didn't care either.

Thank you Max Plank!

Scott Pilgrim. Saw the previews and immediately thought it was stupid; evenly tried to argue into seeing a different movie when we went to see it.
Now I know it is one of the most amazing things on earth

Well, I always despised all rap, thinking it as the music of little idiots who think that annoying bullshit about women, limousines and champagne is cool.
And then I listened the Slim Shady LP, and shit, I liked it! I thought "Hey, this Eminem actually has something to say once in a while, unlike those other bastards!".
Well, I still hate all other rap as I have tried, without success, to find other artists like him.
(Disclaimer: His first three albums were good, but after that I felt it kinda started to be the same crap others do. Although I have to admit, he did a minor recovery on Recovery.)
I don't like to admit this often, as people are quick to make stupid assumptions.

So naturally i wasn't expecting much from these two
but i gave them a go
and fell in love with both of them completely
changed my entire perspective on American comedy
You need some Fraiser. And there's nothing wrong with the first few seasons of friends.

OT: hm.... I htink a JRPG, and then BOOM! Persona 3 fes.

I got psychonauts at big lots for 2 dollars mostly expecting it to be crap. I was very happy a few hours later.

same basic thing with space rangers 2. Now its just about my favorite game.

also bought a four pack of EA games cause black and white was in it. Surprisingly, two of the other games (freedom fighters and the thing) were really fun too.
