I guess I should like Half-Life. It's a story-driven single player FPS with great voice work and gameplay but I just find it bland and dull

I'm not sure what I shouldn't like... I suppose since I grew up listening to nothing but punk rock (bands like Rancid, The Clash, Minor Threat, AFI, Gallows) I shouldn't like progressive metal or any metal, really, but I love Mastodon so damn much

I don't like Rockstar sandbox games like GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption. They're tedious!! The controls are insane and there's so much travel...all the time. At least if there was no punishment for going fast like in Saints Row 2 (mixed feelings on this one though) it would be better but it takes forever.

Something I like...Modern Warfare 2. I know, I know, bring it on haters. I thought this game was better than CoD4 and better than Black Ops, and what made it great for me was that it brought back that old school multiplayer action where four friends would huddle in the couch playing splitscreen. Remember that, when your friends were actually in the room with you? Good times:)
..there isn't a punishment for going fast. Where the hell did you get that from?

And both games have a 'fast travel' option as well...
Well, I was thinking of design issues rather than in-game pnishment. Like in GTA, the car control are ass, and if you go fast you WILL hit something, making the travel very start-stop. Maybe I just suck at driving? And I'll be darned if there was a fast travel in GTA IV, I never saw one...but again maybe I just suck.

I am aware of the RDR fast travel, but there was still so much horseback riding in the missions, and even then your horse ran out of stamina when going properly fast. I just found it to be annoying when playing. Those games had other flaws that made me not like them as well though.

I love Turn-Based Strategy.

By this logic, I should adore Final Fantasy Tactics.

I live in one of the driest places on earth, you'd think I love the heat. I don't. I hate it. I loathe summer. Anything over 30 degrees c is too much for me.

anc[is]I should like Xcom, turn based strategy and aliens and lazors and such, but I don't like it when my men die. There's no point in naming them and analyzing their stats to determine their perfect role when they can all be instakilled at a moment's notice. :'(
Not true. Well, mostly true, but the idea is that you don't put much thought into it. Just use them as meat shields, be sure to use tanks, etc. With experience and, most importantly, better tech, they get more survivability and become vastly more useful.

I mean, I had a veteran that took a nuke to the face (blaster bomb) and lived. It was an actual nuclear headshot. I promptly named him Saxton Hale.

As for me... I should like Dominions 3 and Sword of the Stars. I really want to like those games. In both cases, I read the manual, played for three minutes, quit and uninstalled after that. I should probably get back to Dominions, at least.

Red dead revolver...
Game was shite, graphics subpar, very derivative characters and story, yet I keep it as a treasure in my game library...

same goes with GUN

Something I should like.. hhmmm
Well, I'd have to go with witcher
As a rule, non-sequel rpgs have a place in my heart right off the bat, and witcher should have been one,
bought the game, played a few hours, and found that it was not to my tasted even though I like the dark settings to it

If you were to look at my cd collection and the abundance of every type of metal out there, You'd think I shouldn't like smooth jazz or orchestral music. I love the stuff

I should like halo but despite it being a decent game it just loses me. Haven't really enjoyed playing a halo since the first one and I don't even really enjoy that anymore.

Mastodon. I really should like this band, considering my taste in music, but I just don't. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like a few of their songs, and I certainly don't think they're bad, I just can't get into it at all.

Dragon age is the same for me as the Op, it shouldn't be my kinda game at all; I generally hate rpgs, and am largely indifferent to the fantasy genre, but I loved the story in it. In fact what I usually do is put it on the easiest difficulty, press x once per fight whilst having a cup of tea and wait for more story!

Bioware really need to get better at this whole gameplay business...
haha yes thats exactly what I did too, (except I'm ashamed to say I still find "easy" hard)

I think it has somthing to do with bioware because other similar games Like Oblivion and the witcher just don't compare as well for me
I'm also gettin' to the point where easy is starting to get a bit challenging... Perhaps because I do nothing but auto level (which I was told after is bad), and inadvertently killed Wyn (who I'm told is the only healer in the game) and Morrigan doesn't know any healing spells because she autolevelled... -.-
I played though on Hard my first time through it. I died about 12 times total. I died in the following places:
Once against Flemeth, because I only had Morrigan for heals.
Once against the Dragon Guarding the Ashes.
About 6 times against the Arch Demon
about 5 times againt the Sloth Demon
I know that adds up closer to 14 than 12 but I felt better over estimating the last two just in case.

Other than those battles, which are boss battles to be fair. I didn't find it difficult at all.

But I also thought it looked good, not acceptable, good, on 360 so I'm a weirdo.

For me it's Left 4 Dead.

I'm a zombie nut. Have been since the 70s. And by all accounts, I SHOULD love L4D. But I can't stand it. I didn't play the sequel because I barely enjoyed the first one. The zombie hordes are fun at first, but with no story and very little context it's hard for even me to get into a zombie game.

I give the series props for atmosphere though. It really captured the outbreak feel quite well. The chaos that would likely ensue from an infection gone wild is omnipresent in L4D. But for me that just isn't enough.

By all accounts, I should have liked Monster Hunter Tri. Co-op multiplayer, the thrill of the hunt, the satisfaction of taking down a big hulking creature... yet for some reason, I was just never able to get into it.

I should love Morrowind, but I can't help but hate it. It's too focused on pure "role-playing", and it pisses me off that I'm going to have to make multiple characters for everything. And it's annoying enough backtracking everywhere without the fast travel system. I can't take a silt-strider to backwater towns, after all. I GET IT, YOUR WORLD IS BIG AND IMMERSIVE!

Also, cliff racers and running draining fatigue.
This. So very much. It seems that hating Morrowind is equivalent to a war crime in some circles. And suggesting that Oblivion is better in any conceivable way will get you lynched.

Every metalhead that's younger than me, every metalhead that listens to nu-metal and every metalhead that doesn't have long hair. I should at least tolerate them since they make our numbers go up, but I despise them all. They're all posers to me.
What if they're in the army? Are they allowed to have short hair then?
