I used to work at a comic book store where we sold Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh and such, and it was a great job and about half our sales came from people buying cards.
Paydays were always the craziest. These guys would come in and buy over $100 worth of magic cards. A lot of the time I'd see guys buy like 20 booster packs, open them all right in the store, and then buy 5 more.
So I'm really happy I got out of collectible card games when I was in the 8th grade (not bashing anyone that still plays them) the only card game I ever really loved was Magi-Nation...and most people don't even know what that is anymore (if ever) lol. I feel like I save myself a lot of money by not buying them.
I buy comic books every week and I am trying to cut back on that by limiting my series, and I buy a lot of TV shows on DVD so I spend quite a bit of money myself.
But what about you all? Is there anything that you see people spend a lot of money on and just think to yourself "I am so glad I'm not into that"?
