Escapists, what is the most stupidest achievement or trophy that you have earned/seen?

For example, I was playing Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II, and one of the achievements is called "Try a tutorial."

To gain it, you have to lose a skirmish by an opponent ranked 20 places below you.

Not only is this now unobtainable due to the EA servers being taken down, but seriously, WHY would I want to lose to someone like that? Plus, it doesn't give you a gamerscore, or anything like that. Seriously, it seems more like a mark of shame than anything else.

So what examples can you think of?

'The Crucible' in TF2. You have to win 137 games on the map cp_foundry.

Why is it ludicrous? Because it's one map, it's the same map, and you have to win 137 different times. Take into consideration that each round will take you, say, ten minutes to beat (and this isn't counting longer rounds or losses), so that's 1370 minutes, or around 23 hours, of playing the same map over and over again. The map is fun, but sheesh, why is this map so special?

That.

However, and maybe it's just because I'm not a big gamer and can never do these anyway, but anything along the lines of "Finish the game on Super Hard Mode Using the Starter Weapon and Without Dying...in 15 minutes."

I REALLY hate those too.

Or ones that require you too play against a developer of the game, like with Red Dead Redemption.

Really Rockstar, do you know how had that is to accomplish? VERY FREAKING HARD.

Damn, ninja'd.

Alright, how about: every single online achievement ever. Yes. That is different.

I can't think of any specifically "stupid" ones, but it irks me when they assign a random number of points, i.e. 12 or 27 or something. There isn't anything wrong with it, but for some reason it makes me twitch.

Speaking of which, the 1 point Borderlands Zombie Island of Doctor Ned achievement was pretty funny. After the boss was beaten they proceeded to give you a 39 point achievement to make up for it.

All the achievements in Oblivion come to mind. They reward you for doing the story, I prefer ones that reward you for throwing a grenade when a guard yawn and getting it lodged in his throat type achievements.

"Complete the tutorial"

Achievements are suppose to be out of the way things, when you hand one away for free at the very beginning of the game it's a little silly.

Or those games when you start them up and click "New Game" and it gives you an achievement/trophy for doing that. >.<

In Xbox 360 I saw in a friend's profile three achievements with zero points for some kind of experimental program called Xbox Live Labs. You had to to have you console switched on for several hours, so that it can spy on you with ease, and after that you gained the zero points achievements. Madness. lol

Mortal Kombat.

100 Fatalitys
150 X-ray attacks
10,000 pints of blood spilt
24 hours of gameplay

With all 29 characters :| so its something like 350 hours of in game time.

and Twisted Metal has one thats like win an online match every day for a month, I heard of people getting to 26-27 days and PSN being down for scheduled maintenance.

I can't think of any right now, but I did just have an idea for a trophy/achievement I would like to see: Reverse trophies/achievements. For example, you'd get the trophy as soon as you started the game, but you loose it as soon as you meet certain conditions. There could be ones where you loose it as soon as you kill an innocent NPC, or when you steal. Instead of getting rewarded for certain things, you'd be getting punished for them instead.

Gnome Chompski for Left 4 Dead 2.

You have to carry a Garden Gnome that you win in an Arcade shooter to the end of the level. It's quite fun actually....

The trophies that you earn by the pressing start for the first time on a game. Yeah make me earn those trophies game.

Also, trophies for random things that you do all the time, for example Infamous 2 you get a trophy for standing on a chainlink fence, something you only do about 50 million times throughout the game. Thanks again for making me work for the trophy game.

See, those ones I don't mind because they have actually made me work for it. Even if a few wanted to make me put down the controller and never play the game again (Here's looking at you, ME2 in insanity).

Anything online pisses me off. I mean, for a start I don't have it, but usually when i get the game the servers are offline or barely populated anyway >.>

I cannot remember the game, but I'd have to say the one where you had to be online at the same time as a thousand other people. I believe people only got it through coordinated effort.

Well, aside from the usual online/difficulty/kill x number of enemies with y weapon/complete the game under z amount of time, the most inane one I can think of off the top of my head right now is in Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands. You get a trophy for switching the game from normal (easy) to easy (can complete it in your sleep). Those are the only two difficulties in the game. And if I remember, you cant change the difficulty back either.
