come one come all

we must share the most inane stupid conspiracy theories we have ever heard mine is the

shape shifing lizard people who run the world conspiracy:

Lizard-People Run the World
If a science fiction-based religion isn't exotic enough, followers of onetime BBC reporter David Icke believe that certain powerful people ? like George W. Bush and the British royals ? actually belong to an alien race of shape-shifting lizard-people. Icke claims Princess Diana confirmed this to one of her close friends.

Let's see that would have to be the Illuminate. They lurk in the shadows etc etc etc. I'm more prone to believing something I have heard about them. ahem. "The Illuminate was founded in Bavaria, Germany in 1776, and disbanded 8 years later. They had a few thousand members." That's believable enough.

Are people still afraid of the Free Masons? If so, that's funny.

Here's one I heard today that blew my mind:
"The Obama Administration staged many shootings, like the Colorado shooting, to arouse fear so they can pass an anti-gun legistation."
Where is this legistation?

People are stupid...

CAPTCHA: call me maybe. I can't get away from that song!

Icke was a sports presenter not a reporter. Fronting grandstand and the snooker was the hight of his career.

My current favourite nutty theory is holy grail - children of Jesus one. The whole think is based on a 14th century spelling mistake.

Also the that US wants Assange sent to Sweden so that can extradite him when its easier to extradite him from the UK than Sweden.

My personal favourite is Hollow Earth. It's
a) hilarious and
b) rich source material for crazy sci-fi novels!

I know a guy who's a Mason. He's a bit weird (he once turned up to a fancy-dress event in his actual Mason garb - complete with ceremonial sword) but he's not scary. He says it's mostly about raising money for charity.

There's also a lodge near my parent's house that I used to pass on my way to the pub. I've never seen their sign with graffiti on it. *conspiracy face*

Why do vaccines contain mercury? Its a well known poison, so why do we inject our children with it?

Also AIDS and homosexuality as cause to help reduce the population.

Also reducing testosterone levels in males to help stop them having enough drive and energy to change the status quo, which is profitable to those with power atm.

I know that there are lots of theories out there that are sheer balls out wacky, but to me nothing beats the moon landing conspiracy.

It would be especially funny where I live, because I'm only a 10 min drive away from a Masonic temple.

OT: Well lets see, there are the flat earth believers, who I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't allowed out of their homes without adult supervision.

Then there are the people that believe in the Nibaru thing.

And I just feel like it, the people that believe the whole 2012=apocalypse thing.

All of them. Sorry but conspiracy theories just piss me off.

If I had to pick one I guess I'd say the Reptoid/Lizard Men conspiracy or whatever they call it.

Not necessarily. Sweden has a history of extraditing people to the US illegally (example: Ahmed Agiza and Muhammadal-Zery. Several 'hackers' have been fighting against extradition to the US in Britain for years. America has had rather... dodgy practices related to extraditing 'criminals' before - (see: extraordinary rendition.) Coupled with the charges against the guy having been dropped until they were suddenly reopened again...

It's kinda dodgy, and wouldn't be the first time shit like that had happened.

OT: That the Twin Towers was caused by the US government or the CIA in order to allow an invasion, especially the idea it was an 'inside job' like the truthers claim. No-one with proper knowledge of architecture, explosives, or basic logic has agreed with them. The truthers respond by claiming those people were all bribed by the government. its just... silly. Really bloody silly.

(Also, how do you put in links that are a different sentence than the address? Like, the word would be, I don't know, cocaine and it would have a link to the wikipedia page of cocaine.)

I'd have to second this. I've never heard a single one that makes any kind of logical sense. Like the "government or CIA killed Kennedy," or "government covered up alien contact," or the moon landing deniers... none are even rational. Our (the US) government can't even balance a budget and the tinfoil-hatters want me to believe they can manage to maintain such massive conspiracies? I don't give the government that much credit.

"Flat Earth" there is only one way to react to people this stupid and that's to laugh.
I read most of their crap out of pure curiosity about the arguments they make and how they explain certain occurrences but half of it doesn't even make logical sense, most likely because they were asked to leave their logic at the door before entering.
Also "Hollow Earth" and "Lizard People", it's all so fun to laugh at.

Odds are if it involves the UN, Illuminati or the New World Order, it's probably stupid. Same thing can be said about Barack Obama (Any president really, but the ones about Obama are a special kind of crazy...).

Also Time Cube. But I love it because of how completely and utterly absurd it is...

Exactly. President Clinton couldn't even keep the fact that he had an affair with Monica Lewinsky secret, you really expect me to believe they could cover up something like plotting 9/11?

Wait, you could actually tell what they were saying? I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Anyway, ever heard of the fluoride conspiracy?

Apparently somebody (It varies, but it's usually the nearest government) is poisoning water supplies with fluoride to make people dumb, or something.

Ya i have to agree that anything involving the US attacking itself is stupid. You can't get congress to talk for 30s without them trying to tear each others throats out. It would be physically impossible for the government to decide to attack itself.

I believe that scepticism is the most healthy intellectual position a person can hold, so you think I would like this forum. However, laughing at all conspiracy theories is tantamount to whole heartedly believing official versions and narratives. I not suggesting you should believe in some of these theories, just treat the so called 'truth' with the same grain of salt u treat them with
