Stupid Question, Stupid Answer.

Hmmm...well for action (Well, it has alot of comedy too when it isn't all serious) most people go for Bleach. A show about ghost samurai who fight evil monsters that try to devour spirits as they pass on to the afterlife. One of my favourite animes and a pretty long running one.
Or you could try Full Metal Alchemist, a classic anime about 2 brothers who try to revive their mum through alchemy but because of the power needed (In the show, all alchemy is equivalent exchange IE: to make a clock you would need enough metal to make it) both brothers almost die with one losing his arm and leg whilst the younger brother has his soul trapped into a suit of armour.
Though you seem like the kind of person who likes Death Note. Not exactly fantasy as it's set in the near future. This guy finds a book where if he writes the name of someone, they'll die in whatever time and way he specifies. It gets real dark and symbolic and there's death gods or whatnot. Not my cup of tea but you might like it?
You can find episodes on animefreak.tv and other animes should they peak your interest. :3
Edit: And unfortunately most of the time you'll find it in Japanese with English subtitles. Though with FMA almost all of it has been completely dubbed. Still, I prefer using the subtitles as alot of stuff gets lost in translation because most English speaking countries tried to turn these shows into kiddy shows.
