[sup]Steel Ball Run isn't that good seeing as it's a prequel/alternate universe. I recommend Phantom Blood (The original. It has plenty of gore and VAMPIRE JACK THE RIPPER!) or Stardust Crusaders (The 3rd story, which introduces Stands and has a dog that controls stands). Vento Auro is pretty good too though. [/sup]
