When I was a teacher:
"Why do we have to learn English?! Everything's translated here in Germany anyways." (age 14) - Srsly?
"Why did I do so much better than her in the exam? She wrote nearly the same amount of text." (age 18) - Srsly?!
"Are you a bodybuilder?" (age 14) - Since most phys.ed. teachers here don't look like they do sports at all, working out as a English/History teacher obviously freaked pupils out)
Then I went into marketing, disillusioned by pupils and our generation yada yada.
Since I am doing that it's mostly people who have no idea about IT asking why specific stuff can't be done. And I am always the one (as a philosopher by university degree (sic!)) who has to explain to people (who should know their stuff) what a pixel is, why this and that can't be re-coded in 5 minutes, why the graphics will need more time than "a few minutes"....it's not stupid in the typical sense it's just people not wanting to think too much.
