I've had Eve players tell me I can't enjoy World of Warcraft. Honestly, both games have their faults.

WoW's gameplay and talent specialization are far too linear, there are balance issues out the wazoo, and the only relevant things in PvE are gearscore and DPS.

Eve's UI is absolutely disgusting.

Someone told me I couldn't jump, because i'm white. SUPER white. So i got a ladder. It was bit awkward lugging it back and forth on the basket ball court. I can't jump but I sure as fuck dunked that night.

Someone told me I couldn't drink a gallon of milk. I did. I puked a few times. But a whole gallon did go down my esophagus and strangely two gallons came back up. So i also proved I could be a cow.

Someone told me I couldn't catch a wave and then stand up on my boogy board. They were right. I told them they couldn't get a ride home with me. I was right.

I seem to get a lot of "stupid shit that people tell me I can do" that I totally can't. Why the hell does everyone in the family think I should be a doctor? I know absolutely nothing about medicine, don't like to deal with people, and am horribly clumsy. Yeah, great doctor material...

I love the irony in the medical students above me, that's the main thing that brought up this thought...

I've been told I can't walk,
to which I would reply (if I wern't calling them tw@ts under my breath)
I can walk, not very well and I need a stick,
but if limping and falling over counts then yes, I can walk!

They told me it couldn't be done. They told me I was crazy for wanting to make a 30-foot tall bear constructed entirely out of weaponry. They laughed at me and dismissed me as insane when I showed them the mecha-bear plans.

BUT WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?! WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!

Mwahahahahahahaha!

I dunno, I don't really recall anyone telling me that I can't do something. Then again, I don't go sharing my plans with everyone either. I just sort of do what I want and then tell people about it after the fact.

Remember, it is always better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

I've been told by my parents that I can't cosplay because... "It's weird and wrong!"

Also been told that I can't read the book "Lolita" because... "It might give me ideas"

The book where Lolita is the only one that comes out of it with anything? I'd be more concerned that the main character kills himself.

People should really read books before they criticise them.

You ever have a time when talking to someone or see a random person and they tell you your not allowed to do something based on your faith or thoughts or just plain out how you look or think?

Some of mine include

Iv been told before I'm not allowed to celebrate Christmas due to not beliving in god.
Iv been told I'm a retarded noob who has no idea what gaming is since I don't want Multiplayer in The Elder Scrolls
Iv been told I don't know how to play LoZ: OoT properly because I like to challenge myself by using the broken giants knife.

Plenty more but id like to hear some of what you all have. :3

EDIT: Since some where asking I changed what the wording was for the one thing.
uggghhh...in regards to the TES thing, it really makes me depressed that some retards think like that...because I feel multiplayer (while fine on its own) its an epidemic killing everything I like about gaming

anyway I cant have fun or be happy if Im not with other people aparently (never mind that most of the time its a fucking pain)

The "Atheists can't celebrate Christmas" thing has always simultaneously annoyed the shit out of me and made me laugh, seeing how Christmas is an old Pagan holiday which was blatantly stolen by the Christian church to make it easier to convert heathens. I mean shit, in my native country the Church never even managed to change the name (not for lack of trying) and as such is still called by the old pagan name of "Yule".

Just curious what is MP in TES? Nothing really comes immediately to mind.
It probably means Multiplayer in The Elder Scrolls.

I can't possibly imagine why anyone would want Multiplayer in those game
I would also argue that christmas doesnt resemble anything remotley christian (aside from the nativity) its pretty much taken over by corporations/retailers

I just wish you non Christians would decide whether you want to celebrate Christmas or get offended by it.

OT: Idk, that I couldn't do normal Trial of the Champion at level 79?

I've been told that I can't code, game, or use computers because I use a mac.
Also that I can't play FPSs because I use a trackpad.
And that I can't finish school or make friends because I'm too young.

So far, I've proven all but one of those (finishing school), and that will be done in a week :)

... What? There's an age limit for that now? Since when?!

OT: I've been told that I can't type properly because that makes me a bundle of sticks.
It was, at the very least, something along those lines...

Now you're being told that you can't spell or properly construct a sentence to save your life.

I know how that feels. I like to keep the top of my skull hairless. I once had a security guard nearly hugging me to make sure I wasn't stealing anything. It was Christmas. I was shopping for my family.

I was once told there wasn't a religion based on Norse Mythology and that meant I couldn't worship those gods. Oh, the day I slapped Odinism in that particular person's face. Felt good, man.
