I have 2

1... Once got all my characters in FF9 to level 50 at the beginning of the game. The monsters were only giving 30 exp. Longest summer of my childhood.

2... Once thought I was helping my friends in a capture the flag halo match by being a sniper, I ended up sniping my own team thinking it was the enemy. The worst part was my friends were all yelling "where is that dam sniper" and I kept saying, "I keep sniping the enemy but I can't find him"

I have a couple more, but I'll wait for others to comment before I sound like a complete retard who can't play games.

Oh dear, quite a bit.

I camped in Dollet at the beginning of FFVIII and pretty much boosted Squall, Selphie, and Zell to level 50 or so.

That made the fight with the demon in the lamp WAY harder.

Once, In Spelunky, I couldn't see the bottom of one a pit, so I jumped down; got hit by three arrows and then landed on some spikes.

I got Explorer as my last perk before I bought Broken Steel in Fallout 3, boy, i was madder than a midget with a yo-yo i tell you what.

Should you not do that? Or is it just so confusing with all the revealed locations? I ask because I was thinking of getting that perk and I just bought the Game of the Year edition.

Hahaha I like #2, that must have been the longest respawn when you died...

Anyways besides killing myself in MANY different ways, the stupidest thing I've ever done was almost finishing this one game then dieing on the second to last boss, getting mad then turning off the game AT the EXACT same time that I realised that I had YET to save.

I made that same mistake. That is the only game I know where the enemies are equal to your level. Who knew a low level = easier game. Apparently the whole level system is based on squall so if you level up the other characters and not squall you will have powerful characters and weak bosses.

All the time on Fire Emblem, i get to the end of a hard chapter and i end up putting a unit next to the boss to soak up some EXP without comparing their stats......bad idea.

Back when I was like...8 or 10 or something, I had been working so hard and got to like the second last course/dungeon/level thing on Donkey Kong 64, and I had one of the coins you needed to fight King K. Rool for at the end....and wouldn't you know it, I let my brother and his friend come over and play on the N64 while I went out with my Dad...get back, and every single save file on that game was deleted x-x I was pissed...finally went back and beat the whole thing just about a year or 2 ago.

I remember playing a Lord of the Rings console RPG, and I remember just going through it without grinding once. I got maybe two and a half hours in before i got frustrated and quit. That was like my first RPG, believe it or not, and I couldn't grasp the idea.

It is because of that game I suffer the "but I might need it later" syndrome.

That has got to be the worst. I'm glad I have never done that.

One more stupid thing... but this time it's not me, Yay!!!

My sister was playing the wii and had the wrist strap on (she broke our tv before), well she let go of the controller again but thanks to the wrist strap it came back and knocked her out. This may not be the dumbest thing ever done in a game but it is still hilarious.

In the Turok reboot, I had an RPG. Jeep full of enemy troops pulls up on the floor below my hiding spot. I stand back from cover. I start tracking them with the right thumbstick, didn't stop even when I realized too late that my crosshairs now aimed at the chest high wall directly in front of me.

I remember that game! It was also my first turn based rpg. I was so sad when I discovered I had to pick a move, then have the character perform it...

A few minutes ago I was playing Burnout and crashed into the first turn of the level, covered in neon yellow arrows.

Me and my sister were playing co-op on ninja assassin. Our job was to escort a nobleman, I decided to scout ahead and found an enemy, when I went in for the kill a dual kill (where both players team up to kill one guy) occured, both me and my sister had though the other one was going to stay behind to guard the nobleman. Needless to say he got assassinated before we could get back to him.
