Er, let's see... roughly in order:
- Had it shaved really short at the back, with a star shaped carved out with a cut-throat razor. I was still in primary school, must've been 8 or 9.
- Shaved it right down to the scalp after previously having left it to grow for a couple of years.
- Sprayed it various colours. Orange and white for Halloween, green just for the hell of it, red because it actually looked alright.
- Cut it myself. The intention was to force myself into having it cut properly, but I liked what I saw after hacking at it with a pair of kitchen scissors for a couple of minutes so kept it for a few days before my mum made me get it cut properly.
- Fauxhawk. Nuff said.
- Bleached it. Twice. First time it went a bit ginger, second time was a lot better, a sort of yellowish-white, but still made me look like an idiot. It was shoulder length at the time.
- A day out with so much weird gel crap on my long bleached hair that I looked like an albino with really shitty dreadlocks.
- Dyed it blue. Dark blue that looked black until it caught the light. Straight from the aforementioned bleached look.
- Had an bit of an emo cut, the day after the aforementioned blue-ifying. I didn't actually set out with that intention, I just said to the stylist "do whatever you reckon looks alright" and ended up looking like something out of a 'we-think-we're-so-trendy' indie band.
- Backcombing and lots of hairspray (think Russell Brand), thanks to a fancy dress birthday party and a friend who owns lots of hairspray and likes doing other people's hair for them, bless her.
The last thing on that list was nearly a year ago, the combination of laziness and hair starting to thin slightly has prevented me from doing anything stupid with it recently. I'm certainly not planning to colour it again, but the Russell Brand thing did kinda suit me so I might give that another go, albeit that I'd need that same friend to help me.
