Anime: Dog Days
It was the most absolutely generic anime that I have seen in a long time, and when it looked like he finally might have to give something up he conveniently managed to get out of the situation because there was some kind of horribly convenient requirements for getting back what he lost that it just so happened that he fulfilled without even knowing. Just way too freakin' convenient. Everyone is happy and no one lost anything at all. And he didn't have to make any romantic choices either. It completely defeated the purpose of introducing that potentially redeeming plot twist that could make the show tolerable. A terribly generic ending to a terribly generic show.
