I can't say that I haven't exactly thought any twists that I have seen as being stupid.

Several moments in MW2, namely Captain Price being alive and in a Russian Gulag, Russians attacking the US, and the EMP scene... I was just thinking "What the fuck..." The entire time.
Price launches a nuke at America to defeat the Russians... okay, explain why that is a good idea, I mean its not like it will wipe out most of the American military's hardware in the process and destroy a good chunk of the US's communications ability.
EMP blasts tend to be indiscriminate...

I think the plot twists weren't as excessive as the plot holes; I mean, would the Russians not notice that all the CCTV has Makarov's ugly mug all over the footage and that at two of the bodies were members of a Russian terrorist cell. And how the heck are they supposed to know Allen is an American if, you know, he's undercover!? sigh...
Well, somehow Price gets in a submarine (don't they have locks on the hatches?) while under heavy fire, kills the crew, reprograms the missile to detonate in the atmosphere above DC, causing an EMP effect that will destroy all electronics. All in under 2 minutes... Yeah. That's realistic. The reason it's supposed to be a good idea is because it will destroy all the Russian's air vehicles, removing their main advantage, and killing thousands of troops en route via cargo plane. Yeah, that makes tons of sense, too.

Oh, I forgot about the airport scene... What kind of airport doesn't have security cameras? And how come the 141 tracks Makarov by photos of his SHELL CASINGS taken on some blurry camera?! Those few levels in Brazil had me WTF-ing the whole time, as well.

CLASSIC one has to be Monster A Go-Go. "There was no monster!" Even MST2K said that was the worst movie of all time.

An entire story arc where minor and main characters are getting killed by the Big Bad, lots of heartfelt oh no I'm dying moments. At the end of the arc the protagonist convinces the guy to stop, the guy goes, OK and resurrects every single person he killed in the entire arc.

Most stupid twist I have ever seen bar none.

Are you talking about Return to "Oz"? UGH! Can't complain enough about that WRETCHED TRAVESTY... and people ACTUALLY HAVE THE GAUL TO SAY IT'S MORE TRUE TO THE BOOKS THAN the 1939 film! If you think that... disgusting... PLEASE!!! I urge anyone who is a fan of fantasy to READ L. FRANK BAUM'S BOOKS!!! They're AMAZING!!! Also, he was very responsible for many of the fantasy tropes we see so many times in fantasy today, like giant spiders, Santa Clause being a nice guy who pals around with fairies, and more... also he was very prolific!
And here's a link where you can download the second Oz book for free!!!

Sorry for posting this twice... does anyone know how to delete your own comment?

You know that character who has been a complete prick the whole time?
Oh look! They're actually a good guy! That makes all their dickish behavior explainable and reasonable in the end!

I read the first book and actually got so angry with it that I went to David Edding's homepage to find an e-mail address so I could send an Angry Letter(TM) asking why every single book he's (technically "they") has written since, what, The Elenium series has been exactly the same.
Depressingly, I didn't realize how repetitious Eddings had become until after I finished the Dreamers and then looked back on his better series. Which, with hindsight, weren't as good as I thought they were the first time. Something's gone wrong when the main characters spend more time gloating and slapping each other on the back at how far ahead of the villains they are than actually taking said villains on.

Don't I know it! Reading Redemption of Althalus was painful; roughly half-way through the book looses what little tension it had in the beginning, because the heroes are always one step - or several - ahead of the bad guys. It's supposed to be the other way around IMO. Otherwise where's the fun in reading it?

The Belgariad series - and to some extent the Malloreon and Elenium series - were the only books he/they wrote well.

I tend to blame his wife actually... >_>

Yeah, I was a bit like wha!? at the Brazil sections; since when do Favela gangs pack enough firepower to rival a decent sized military? I know organised crime can get its hands on a lot, but that much?

Having had time to think about it, I have to nominate Mass Effect 2's convient plot filler to allow for the crew of the Normandy 2 to get abducted. *cringe*

Let's see, so many to choose from:

The main character is a pop singer because she's wearing the same clothes as a pop singer who got murdered a thousand years ago. She also gains from these clothes the ability to be mistaken for a girl who looks nothing like her, unless you count 'thin' and 'brunette'.

Despite having poison proof suits in a nearby room, and reason to believe the big bad will kill you with poison, two characters go antagonise it; one is immortal, one is not. The not immortal one is then killed with poison.

See: Everything about The Matrix 2 & 3. EVERYTHING.

The Incidious ending. "He was really an old lady the entire time!!! or something like that!!!"

Another would be the ending to Hide and Seek. Very predictable.

And the last one I don't remember the name of the film, but the people were fighting aliens in a space ship. The twist ending was that they weren't in space, they were really underwater.

Anyone ever seen the French slasher film "Haute Tension"? If you have, you most likely understand why I bring it up. If you haven't, I'll just say that it's a grade-A slasher film (Possibly one of the best of the past decade) that's undermined by a literally absurd twist near the end. It doesn't ruin the entire film, but boy does it ever come out of left field. It also makes earlier scenes not make any sense.

Lol...option C. I was just joking.
In that case, it's both A and B.
Relax, it's just a joke.
...
You don't seem to get the point... it was a stupid, trollish joke, thus you acted like a stupid troll. Due to the fact, that I lack any evidence that you are not a stupid troll, it's pretty safe to assume, that you are one. Period.
Wait, before this devolves into a flame war, let me get my popcorn.

Okay, carry on.
It won't turn into a flame war. I already said everything I wanted to say, thus the conversation is over, unless I will be given a proper reply, which I doubt.
I'm not missing any point. There's nothing trollish about my comment as it was within the context of the discussion, and the joke itself isn't stupid just because you dislike or don't understand it.

I was making fun of Lucas's comment that the saga can be watched in order and it will make sense. Obviously if one were to do that, the twist wouldn't be much of a twist at all. I didn't think I had to explain all that, but if so then I don't think I'm the one who should be called stupid.
