Yeah, but you haven't.Aaron Sylvester said:There are a number of people out there who firmly believe that the human eye cannot tell the difference between 30 fps, 60 fps or 120 fps (fps = frames per second or framerate) when it comes to watching videos or even playing videogames.
So I'll still keep this "30 fps myth" at the back of my mind as one of the stupidest things people can say, and one of the stupidest arguments one can make. Having used a 120hz monitor over the past year, the difference is so mind-blowingly obvious it's not even funny![]()
See the refresh rate on CRT monitors was important because it was an actual thing, the number of times the electron beam swept the screen, which made a huge difference to the tolerance for watching it since the higher the refresh rate the less flicker.
On a LCD screen, the "refresh rate" is marketing bullshit. since the pixels in an LCD array can be switched between states as you need them, no need to refresh the entire screen at all.
Also refresh rate and frames per second are not, nor have ever been, linked. So your "120" hz monitor might be very nice, but it's not anything to do with the frames per second or what you are actually seeing.
My thing is people talking about technical specifications with out knowing what they mean,
