IQ tests are worthless for ascertaining how intelligent someone is for 3 reasons.

1. Intelligence has yet to be sufficiently defined

2. IQ tests were never meant to measure intelligence, only the lack thereof. As a result IQ tests can only test very basic skills making any score over the average "100" worthless.

3. IQ tests are notoriously unreliable.

Fuck people, for a website whose members pride themselves on being logically and scientifically minded you guys are fucking up some pretty basic stuff here.

Hurray for Psychology class! I remember the lesson about how IQ scores and tests are overblown.

No, they're not.
Ignorance is a lack of knowledge.
Stupidity is a lack of intelligence.
There is a difference.

What Max said.

Also, ignorance can be cured. Stupidity cannot.
This is not neccesarily true, but more common.

Sometimes, ignorance can be even harder to cure than stupidity.

If a child is brought up to believe one thing, and one thing only until he is 35, attempting to make him less ignorant is just difficult.

Intelligence on the other hand, seems much easier to me. Unless mentally ill, humans are all the same. Our brains operate at the same capacity, it is the ability to utilize the brain that shows intelligence. One can be trained to utilize their brain in a better fashion, resulting in them increasing their intelligence.
