Urgh, I far preferred the new look. I liked Old Cole's voice and yellow attire, but I hated his baldy-ness. I thought it was so much better that he had hair and tattoos. Disappointed now.

This could be very bad for game development, we'll have to wait and see how this plays out.

The first Cole looked like a douche bag circa the late 90's and the second Cole basically followed suit. You're splitting hairs if you think one version looked markedly better than the other.

Also, making style decisions based on the whims of your adolescent male fan base is a great way to ensure you make a game with totally forgettable art direction. Culture makers create trends, they don't follow them.

Didn't really mind Nu Cole, but this does make more sense. His electric powers already let him survive falls of several hundred meters, all we needed was for his powers to have total makeover" abilities...

EDIT: Oh, just one thing: Please, PLEASE, lose that horrendous yellow suit.

Sucker Punch has said it wants Uncharted 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/101172-Sucker-Punch-inFamous-2-Will-Induce-A-Heart-Attack], so maybe it doesn't want there to be any hitches.
Ahahahahahaha! Nice joke Sucker Punch.

Also, it's not just here, but all over the net, I see people saying "Good, the Cole in E3 looked like a douche." Uhm... And Cole from inFamous 1 didn't? But honestly it doesn't matter what he looks like because he acts like a douche regardless: you just get to decide if he's a super douche (evil) or regular douche (hero).

If they were going to change anything about him, they should change that obnoxious sound he makes when he runs. I'm still trying to figure out of his pants were made of tin foil, or if he just had a bunch of scrap in his backpack that was rustling around, or what the hell that was.

Umm, they successfully ended the Sly Cooper series after 3 great games. Just because a game (and a story-based game especially) was good is no reason to make a sequel. Unless they have a really important story to tell in that universe, or a new take on the gameplay, I don't see any reason to continue a story which received a satisfactory and fulfilling conclusion.

As to inFamous, wasn't Cole bald b/c he lost his hair in the explosion that gave him powers? And wouldn't it make more sense to keep his head shaved after the fact b/c with all the electricity, his hair would just stand on end anyway? Although, if he could use electricity to style it like Benimaru, that'd be kind of cool (a bit off the wall though). Anyway, if I'd paid attention to the announcements for inFamous 2 (are they still capitalizing weirdly, or did they go back to regular English for the second title?), I would have been outraged by this as well, so I'm glad they decided to go back.

And for everyone complaining about the studio bending to the whims of fans: a large concentration of negative feedback is not a "whim" and if you don't have your fans, who do you have? Obviously I'm not saying the fans should be directing the game development, but so long as you listen and consider what your fans are saying, you're doing things right.

Personally, I didn't mind the new character model. The voice, however, did jar me a bit. The voice was a bit too far from the original, but from what I saw from the IGN link he has gruffed it up a bit. It might take a bit getting used to, but regardless I'm really looking forward to InFamous 2. It's got more of everything; More powers, more climbing, more action, more badassery, and more friggin awesome powers! That and the animations are a helluvah lot better, and being an animation-junkie I'm all for that.

Still, it's good to see a developer listening to it's fans. And don't worry Mr. Goldman, last time I read InFamous 2 was only 10% in completion, and if what we're seeing now is only 10% I can only imagine what 100% is going to look like!

Many have probably said it, I just don't feel like reading more at the moment. Yay for being lazy! Anyway, I didn't mind the hair, or the tattoos. Who knows, maybe he had tattoos the whole time? We just couldn't see them because of his attire. For me it was mostly the voice and the fact that facially he just didn't look like Cole to me at all.
I agree. Everything was fine except the voice and face... Well, and the pants looked ridiculous, but that's not important. You just cant replace your main character with someone else (different voice/face) and give him the same name and think no one will notice. It doesn't work in movie sequels, why would it work in games?

Indeed but I could have dealt with the crappy pants if he was still the same/remotely the same, Cole. Haha

Haha! Exactly, witch is why I said it wasn't important. I agree completely

Also, fuck you, Sucker Punch. Make the game YOU want to make. Don't make the game you THINK we want. We want the game YOU want to make. Know what happens when you keep catering to what you think people want? Larry the fucking Cable Guy happens. Do you want THAT?

Oh good, now their character can go back to looking like EVERYONE ELSE IN VIDEOGAMES TODAY.
Well, neither alternative was really that original. The original Cole was akin to a bald space-marine and the new Cole was a teen Nathan Drake.

I don't really expect the new-new Cole to look too much like the original, at least not the same clothes. All I want is those damn ugly pants gone, I know he's got ice powers now, but you don't need to have a giant snowflake on em, and his hair made me half expectant to hear him played by Nolan North.

That's good. I wanted to punch the new look right in the mouth! Went from psychopath to douche in the wink of an eye! I'd like to see the new redesign though.

It would't have been so bad if they'd just given him hair. They made him like a complete twat.
