so sucker punch isnt out in Australia quite yet, I must say it does look pretty cool and I did see movie bobs reveiw before anythign else about it

and here what I find so weird

the ciritcs score is terrible and yet the "audience" score is usually really really good, yeah I know this does often happen but I havnt seen such a big difference before, whats going on here?

now say what you want about critics but usually if somthing has good critic score and a good Audience score then its usually worth watching, and Usually they tend to be a little more similar

but here...Its just insane and I cant decide if its worth watching

so (jokingly) is this some conspricy? or are all current critics too old to "get" what might be a master peice ahead of its time?

anyway Movie tickets are expensive and Im saving up for DA2 so this ones really got me unsure

Because reviewers are dojng a job and many likely dont choose which movies they review. Many of the people who liked it and were not proffessional reviewers, probably saw it because it appealed to them.
Like when Adam Sessler on X-Play reviews a Dynasty Warrior game...its low because he doesnt like it but HAS to review it. If I gave a review, it would likely be high, because I actively seek DW games because I like them.

Thats why I generally dont trust reviews...cause they dont like and hate the same exact things as me. Often, most people seem to bash the features and stuff I like. I mostly look at reviews as sneak peeks of something.

It's probably a mediocre movie. Audience see jiggling boobs and acceptable action, Critics see poor story etc etc etc.

Because the average audience thinks aynthing is good. The average audience thought Transformers 2 was good.

Critics also dont really like innovation, or at least a break from the norm, especially in the way that Sucker Punch presented. Nor did they care for its director. Now if Scorsese had made the movie the exact same way, or the guy that made Inception, it would get a resounding applause.

I think most reviewers review based on how close the movie would be from an Oscar or whatever rather than the true purpose of the movie and how well it fits it's niche.

Not necessarily. Scorsese's last film Shutter Island, which was in my opinion one of the best films of last year, got middle of the road reviews.

User reviews = 1 or 10

Critic reviews = 1 to 10

[sub]At least critics justify their opinions. Ideally, anyway.[/sub]

Most critics, save Bob, look at everything but the movie first. Most of the time, camera work, score, the meaning, then lastly the acting and how everything looks. Well I stopped reading critics a long time ago so it might have changed.

The audience likes what ever keeps them entertained. It has explosions, sexy women, SAMURAI'S WITH GATLING GUNS?! Yeah they'd enjoy it. I mean I did, I thought the movie was very nice too look at. I mean we watch movies like Scary Movie 4 and still find it slightly entertaining!

Oh by the way I would not watch Sucker Punch again. It's good to watch once in a theater because it looks really cool but thats all.

critics loved Pirahna 3D and Machete last year, despite not being close being oscar worthy.

I personally loved Suckerpunch, tho my family and friends felt otherwise. I did expect the story to be... Idk, more epic, or feel more fleshed out than it actually was. But once you adjust to realize the story (while good) isn't really that profound (or profoundly executed) you can just enjoy the ride, which, as I saw it at an IMAX, was a real treat :)

Edit: The movie is definitely deeper than what one might think and is definitely NOT just simple pandering to male geeks. I would absolutely recommend it.

it was really, really stupid, not gonna lie. It took itself way, waaaaaaay to seriously. It was a stupid movie that thought it was smart basically. annnnnnnd despite what all dragon age conservatives are saying DA2 was actually a really good game of which i've beat 4 times.... (probably a bad thing) anyway my advice to you is save up for da2 and skip this movie

The critics aren't the target audience. I loved it, as did most of my friends who saw it. It really comes down to what you're into.

A 68 isnt that bad At least considering the movies recently that have come out have gotten 22s and 35s and such.
