Was just browsing the internet started to look at crazy game mastermind Suda 51 and this news story from the Metro (UK free newspaper) came up released 5 hours ago I have no idea if there are already threads but this game just sounds awesome.

18yo cheerleader with a chainsaw fighting off zombies in her high school (based in USA) Although Shadows Of The Damned did not perform well on sales I still loved the game (as much as a man can love that game without sounding too gay).

Here is hoping this game actually is real and not a fake or something that is never released haha.

Well at the very least, this games sounds like it'd make for a wonderful episode of Zero Punctuation! I can't really say much more than that since the game's really, REALLY not my genre, but the decision to not make the game gory is interesting to someone like me who is rarely entertained by gore for its own sake and rapidly gets bored with it even when he is.

Ok, this has the potential to score high on the WTF-meter so I have hopes for it. If it can reach No More Heroes level of WTF-ness then it will definitely be worth a look :D

Been a fan of all his games that have come out here. Absolutely I'm pumped.

And I'm glad to see he's keeping the tradition of designing the absolute hottest females in games.

Chainsawing zombies never gets old.
I have Shadows of the Dead, and I must say I'm a bit torn... This game mixes brilliant parts, worthy of an instant-classic masterpiece with some horrendously bad gameplay sequences. But chainsawing zombies... It must be good.
So, this gal wield dual chainsaws, right?

Between this and the sort of shit No More Heroes is pulling these days, it seems like Suda just likes objectifying women. I know the games are very tongue in cheek, but there's only so many times you can have a female character running around in her underwear before it starts to seem less like a joke and more like soft porn.

Sounds a lot like Onechanbara. A bunch of games about scantily clad girls in bikinis slicing up zombies with samurai swords.

Sure it sounds interesting but so do all of Suda51's games. Unfortunately, I'd usually rather play with a ball attached to a cup with string... it's just more fun.

I love Suda51 (he's hilarious) but I can't say I'm a big fan of his games.

Meh...

I loved No More Heroes but I'm really failing to see what's so crazy and amazing about this game, or Shadows of the Damned. I'm pretty tired of zombies everywhere, and adding in a cheerleader with a chainsaw doesn't really seem very interesting to me either. It doesn't look like a Suda51 game, it looks like a game made by someone who is trying to be Suda51. Looks like it's just fan service.

I wonder if this will be good.

No, I really wonder. Suda51 and Grasshopper have always been great on concepts and shaky on execution, and this seems like a game that will rely more heavily on the latter being good. Everything I've seen of this game so far makes it sound like Bayonetta, which would be a good thing except this developer has never demonstrated gameplay design talents anywhere near Platinum Games' level.

With Grasshopper, there's a very real risk that this will just devolve into fucking X-Blades (sorry, I know we're not supposed to mention that game in polite company).

Or it could be great. Maybe they're going to rope in somebody who knows what they're doing [small](hey, give Kamiya a call!)[/small], maybe they'll figure out a combat system that just works, maybe some of that Shinji Mikami magic rubbed off on the designers, who knows. I'm going to give this game a chance (if done right, it will be really, really fun), but I'm not exactly rushing out to pre-order it.

[sub]Either way, it will probably be better than Shadows of the Damned.[/sub]

Am I the only one that thinks Suda 51 has run out of ideas? This is basically Buffy The Vampire Slayer with a chainsaw.
