Exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing too heavy handed or tragic, I'm not against stuff like that, just not in the mood.

I like shows like:

Buffy, The Vampire Slayer
Angel
Firefly
Futurama
Veronica Mars
Scrubs
Farscape
Arrested Development
Spaced
House
Dexter
Californication
Family Guy
Pushing Daisies
etc.

I've also recently enjoyed Chuck.

I have other favourite shows too, but I'm mainly looking for something in the vain of the shows I mentioned here.

Thanks in advance.

You should try watching Red Dwarf, a British comedy series from the 90's.
Also, the first ever sci-fi comedy.
I love it.

Id suggest this whilst adding Hyperdrive (A comedy like Red Dwarf, but a little more stupid and made by one of the same creators as Spaced) Rome (A brilliant drama series about, well, Rome during its rise and fall) and American Dad (If you like Family Guy, you'll like this)

Band of Brothers (WW2 10 part series which is unmissable)
Life on Mars (time travelling cop show)
Life (framed cop looking for revenge)
Heroes (super powers overload)

I haven't watched Dollhouse because the setting doesn't sound very inspiring. In fact, I've sort of avoided it on purpose, I've felt like most people have not considered it up to Whedon's previous efforts in terms of quality and setting. Is there decent character development? Is it as good as Whedon's other works?

American Dad is great and I could've included it on my list. House I already mentioned.

I've read about Red Dwarf actually, but sort of forgot about it. I might give it a chance, it sounds pretty interesting.

Ever seen "Whose Line is it Anyway"? It's not a sitcom per se (it's actually an improv show) but it's probably the funniest and most entertaining show I've ever seen.

Did you know that Daria is finally coming out on DVD next year? Not so helpful, unless you have a perfectly legal way of downloading the episodes or some fancy cable/satellite thing. Daria is just my favorite show ever.

I found It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia to be consistently entertaining, although not quite as funny as Arrested Developement.

Whatever you like, watch Lost - it's the best programme I've ever watched without a doubt.

It's deep, interesting, there's great writing and a great cast.

It's just fantastic - it won't matter whether it's similar to your list or not.
