You still there? Order Pizza and be lazy. Or if you really want to, get the ingredients to make your own Pizza. That way you can load it with your own toppings and make it however you want. And no being guilted into tipping the delivery boy.
I sure hope you've eaten something these past few years, rather than wait for someone to suggest something.
Here's how my mom taught me to make simple spaghetti/pizza sauce when I was a kid. I was big into Gobots back then, so she made it a bacronym:
Garlic (powder)
Onion (powder 'cuz I hate real onions)
Basil
Oregano
Tomato-
Sauce
You can go just by taste when making it, but I find the result is more consistently good when using a tablespoon for the spices. Note that this is the pizza version. For spaghetti sauce, you may wish to add diced tomatoes and beef, but if you are either on a budget or vegetarian you can forgo meat entirely here.
Now, a twist; to modify this recipe into chili, drop garlic, basil, and oregano and add in cumin spice, red pepper, and the bean mix of your preference. Or, if you like, go halfway somewhere to make Mexican spaghetti or Italian chili.
A LAN party? Sounds like a job for hedonistic amounts of pizza rolls, Cheetos, Mountain Dew, and beer (if you are of age of course). No real cooking beyond a microwave required!
Though, if you are bored and REALLY want to cook, I'd follow the suggestions of a previous poster and make your own pizza. Buy some frozen pizza dough (or ask a local pizzeria if you can buy some) and some pizza sauce, and then just go crazy. And I mean it: don't make some boring vanilla pizza like "three meat" or "pepperoni"... go crazy and make something really bizarre!
Pasta seems like the obvious choice since you can mix it with pretty much anything.
Pizza, as suggested is also great because you can eat it while playing, and you can just prepare the dough/topping/sauce in advance, store it in the fridge and just cook them as you get hungry. And yes, go nuts with the toppings (maybe try that pasta on your pizza)
I'd also recommend a supply of fresh fruit. It will keep you going for longer.
Well, you could do the really unhealthy thing and go for the grease and sugar. Kinda depends on what everyone goes for.
Personally, I tend to make finger-food platters. Meat and cheese with small rye or sourdough bread slices, veggie platters with onion dip, small flour tortilla wraps with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, et cetera in them... and of course a punch bowl of some kind with a fruit punch or something everyone can agree on.
I usually fill one of these with limeade, soda water, lemon, lime, and orange slices:
-that's three gallons, or about 11.4 liters
I also make candied bacon, just so people start spouting Epic Mealtime lines every time they see it... also, for iron man eating contests. I use approximately equal parts dark brown sugar and cayenne pepper powder when making my candied bacon.
A LAN party is, after all, a party.
**edit** I forgot: fresh fruit, usually sliced into easily consumable wedges and such, is also a good idea.
Okies bring you A-game dude, flavored oatmeal variety sachets in the microwave with half a glass of fresh milk will give you plenty of slow release carbs and keep you relatively full and prevent you from putting all that toxic shit in your system that snacks are made from and that ruins your complexion by oozing through the skin on your face, couple of punnets of fresh strawberries and a refrigerated large plastic container of sliced skinned melon chunks of both the cantaloupe and water variety to actively hydrate you and your mates and again no artificial styms ,sugars or preservatives means its all made from win.
For electrolyte and taste goodness I recommend stocking up on 2 liters of Orange passion fruit fresh squeezed juice.
Supplement with Big Ben Meat pies from the oven with master foods tomato sauce. For protein and a little taste texture variety.
On top of this I always have a 1 kilo tin of coffee available in my kitchen
Enjoy
