If it's instrumental bands, you can't really ignore Weather report. They've made some good stuff.
Dave Brubeck will be good to you as well. You've almost certainly heard this one before:

You'd like the "martial industrial" genre. However, most of that stuff has vocals.

its hard to say what kind of music i like. i like heavy music and stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-g1ncoKihw&feature=related i just hate music with vocals

Definatly check out Buckethead. He is a solo guitarist who hires drum and bass players or somtimes uses drum machines. He plays a huge variety of music from funk to alternate to country (he has some mad banjo solos). He replaced slash from guns and roses at one point but he is so much better than slash and guns and roses.

Solar Fields is a great electro chill out artist. He did most of the Mirror's Edge Soundtrack and its just amazing listening to him. Highly Reccomended
