Just got my 3DS refurbished a couple weeks ago. Currently playing A Link Between Worlds, my first Zelda game yet, and I love it so far. I mean, the characterization and story is pretty bare bones, but the gameplay mechanics doesn't get much more solid than this. It's very open ended too but without the lack of focus a lot of sandbox games have, which I consider ideal.
A few days ago I beat Kid Icarus: Uprising. I loved the shit out of that game, and the control scheme that everyone complains about for some reason took maybe an hour to get used to, and feels pretty intuitive once you master it. The gameplay is fantastic on the air and on the ground, the way difficulty is handled is probably the best implementation I've seen in a video game, and the dialogue is amusing throughout. Loved the characters and music too! Just remember to rest the controller on the bottom of your palm (on the stylus hand) and you won't cramp up. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but I've heard good things about it. Pit is easily my favorite Nintendo protagonist, he's an adorable dork and this game makes me want to main him in SSB.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf was nice and relaxing, but I honestly haven't felt the need to play it after my first five hours. Not really my thing.
