Tried this one a bit, it's ok but the graphics are terrible. If you guys like those kind of games, you should definitely try this one: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/466669 .It's the best one I've played but it gets way too hard for my taste really fast, so was just looking for something sort of like that one but a bit more balanced. Maybe Mushroom Tower Defence, if you're either willing to put up with an endless 'March'-type theme song or have something else to listen to...and can stand the kiddy graphics (take a look, you'll see what I mean). Also on newgrounds.com.
Those are the two I played, briefly. Also take a look at Get Off My Planet!, a goofy, spastic game featuring an infinite number of waves (there's another objective) of George W. Bush's goons attacking your (Barack Obama's) new planet. Newgrounds again. Just watch out for the full-blown internet meltdown your browser'll have on wave 50. The number of bads is INFINITE, and it sends them at your processor, rather than your towers.

That's a very fun game, but it's only free for the first hour. It seems worth the ten bucks to me, but the OP's looking for free stuff.Mithander said:
Weebls-stuff.com had a Fanta-themed tower defense game on their site not too long ago... I don't remember how long I played for, but the fact I remember at all is a sign it was probably good.
I also second (probably third or fourth by now) Gemcraft and Plants vs Zombies - I actually liked the mechanic of Gemcraft so much it's kinda spoiled the rest for me! It's got that easy to play, fiendishly hard to perfect thing going for it.
It's also worth having a poke around on Big Fish and MSN Games, I remember there being a couple of quite good tower defence things on there (they may have been free demos for paid games though) but I can't remember what they were called.

granted it's not flash but if you have wc3 then there are alot of tower defense games you can do

To the OP: they're right. Play Gemcraft 1 and Chapter Zero. You will adore both, they are simple in concept and brilliant in gameplay. Chapter Zero is very far ahead design-wise of the first, though.
