Well, I've been gone from my Xbox now for a solid month, so when I get back I'm planning on downloading the new expansion pack (if it's even out. I can't find the fucking date anywhere online), and going on a Battlefield 3 binge for a whole night.

Planning on trading in a bunch of game so I might get Max Payne 3 eventually.

Other than that, a pretty dry summer. Probably will buy the Skyrim DLC whenever that comes out.

I'm hoping to finish some games I have owned for YEARS but have never finished. I'm playing pokemon blue right now.
finally sat down and learned all the controls/know how to space rangers 2 yesterday, been having an absolute blast with it all last night and today (i think i remember you saying you've played it before? maybe not, if so, disregard)

but yeah, 4 bucks very well spent so far.

(if you were the one I remember, you got any recommendations? any alliances I should make sure I have or ones that are worthless? any "get rich quick" schemes?)

OT:

Well I'm waiting for the glorious steam summer sale, i'm sure i'll pick up a few games cheap there, otherwise just crackin down on my back log and previous games that i'm itching to attack again

(space rangers 2 as mentioned)
witcher 2 (with all the new stuff, haven't quite finished it yet)
bulletstorm (wanna beat the whole campaign)
empire earth (campaign, never beat it all as a kid, was too hard at the time)
jedi academy (wanna kill rosh this time >:) )
i'm sure a few more will come up
Sadly I am not the one you thought I was. The only thing I know about SR2 is that it's sold on GOG with it's expansion.
ah musta just been from the same thread, maybe it was freespace 2 I was thinking of relating to you?

I guess I will also add in alpha protocol and perhaps freespace 2, if i do acquire it anytime soon.
You may have recommended it to me?

The only space game I have talked about in a while is X3 and X: Rebirth.
welp, awkward post is awkward, it must be your james mccloud avatar that got me relating it to space games -_-

Persona 4 for the PS2.

Take an 80+ hour long game with extensive friendship and creature capture elements (à la, Pokemon) and you have yourself an excellent, if not perfect, JRPG.

So, yeah, that. It should take you a good chunk of your summer to complete. Willing you can find a copy.
80+ hours?

beaten those kinds of games in less than 2 weeks :p
a gamers dedication is strong, when they choose to be stubborn! especially if they aren't actively working more than part time, that can be done in a jiffy

I have a long-standing tradition of playing through the Baldur's Gate series every summer. More often than not I stop during BG2 because summer ends sooner than I would like, but so far I'm about halfway through BG1 (I think it's a record for mid June) so things are looking good.

Apart from that, I'm still playing quite a bit of Diablo 3, though mostly to play with friends. The item game doesn't seem to be all that well designed to me and at this point I find playing in inferno to be more irritating than fun. Started playing hardcore, just lost a barbarian at level 19. Going up with a witch doctor now.

Given my burgeoning boredom with Diablo 3, I have half a mind to try out WoW again. I haven't played it for more than a year so it could be fun for a while.

Finally, I bought Witcher 2 when it was on a sale a few weeks ago. It's a nice game for sure but I'm having trouble getting into it. I'm just not a big fan of games that force a protagonist on you. Another game that's on my list is Amalur, but I'm just not willing to shell out $60 for it. I feel bad for saying this considering what happened to the studio, but I might get it if it goes on sale during the mandatory Steam summer sale.

Play lengthy RPGs that I did not have the time for during the rest of the year. I mean, I have loads of free time now, so why not spend it playing the genre that I love but rarely have time to play (seriously, I usually only complete 1 per semester)? Currently enjoying Divinity 2, Soulbringer, and Risen, and I hope to get into the Tales series later this summer. :D

Mostly replay old singleplayer games and/or play old multiplayer games with friends.

For instance, believe it or not but thanks to playing Castlevania HD (a pretty damn old Arcade game, itself) with a guy on my friends list, I've since become acquainted with one of his friends who has Tenchu Z and likes playing it on multiplayer. As such, last week I was able to enjoy my first few games of multiplayer Tenchu.

Another guy I met while playing CV:HD has Warriors Orochi 3, and I got to play my first few multiplayer games of that this weekend as well.

Now my original friend has apparently ordered himself a copy of Tenchu Z, and the guy that I was playing Orochi 3 with is considering getting it as well.

As such, it certainly seems that - while we'll all likely still keep paying CV:HD - I'm going to be enjoying plenty of ninja assassination goodness in the near future. Mixed with various rounds of ME 3 multiplayer every now and then with my other circle of friends.

I've been itching to get back into New Vegas. Also, in a turn towards the past I'm going to put some time into my copy of Resident Evil 4.

Playing Rayman: Origins. The game tricks me into liking it with its beautiful display and wacky fun, but then I always reach an area where I take a look at how hard the game is getting and say "Well, that's enough playtime for an hour or 2. Time for a break."

I've budgeted $37 for the obligatory Steam sale and I intend to be patient concerning the daily deals to make sure I maximise my savings. Then I'll play through all of them eventually - along with getting more LoL in, of course.

Might even find some time to play through The World Ends With You again. God, I love that game...

I have a couple of exams that I have to pass first, but after that, I plan on finishing the Mass Effect trilogy, and I also have an Eve Online subscription waiting for me, which means that my RL will pretty much be over from that point on.
