Founding Broters by Joseph Ellis
Holy shit, I know that guy.
The actual Author or just someone with a similar name.
The actual author, Joe Ellis. He came and talked to us at my summer camp (it's a reading camp. Blah blah nerd camp, I've heard it all before.) Yeah, he was pretty interesting, and I believe he said something along the lines of
"Man, if you go against Thomas Jefferson you'll always get beaten."
He's a funny guy.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for good zombie books besides World War Z, The Zombie Survival Guide and the two P&P&Zs, please let me know.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've only read two books this summer. I was actually just thinking about how I need a new book in order to keep my hunger for reading material sated. Regardless, this is what I've read:

Pirate Latitudes, a book by Michael Crighton published after his death.

The Killer Angels, a novel recounting the battle of Gettysburg from the point of view of those who commanded the two armies.

A couple of Zombie Survival Guide knock-offs I found while browsing the humor section of my local Borders, any Stephen King I can get my hands on, and the Shadow series by Orson Scott Card.

Metro 2033 at the moment. I have no idea what I'll read after that though.
Metro 2034? :p
I already have a bunch of unread books, so I don't know. Depends on how I feel about it after I finish reading the first one.

I have this stupid summer reading project that forces me to read two books. So far I've read Ender's game which is pretty good, but now I have to chose a book that was written by someone in this list of authors I don't know. After I read the books I have to provide quatations from the book describing the setting, character, and conflict. My mother won't allow me to read any other books until the project is finished, but I refuse to do it.
Tell us the author list, maybe we can recommend something.
usually those authors are pretty good, yeah show us the list, there might be some good ones

Joan Aiken. Dane Bauer. Karen Cushman. Robert Cormier. Bette Green. John Feistein. Pual Zindel. Walter Dean Myers. William slaetor. Karen Hesse. Gary Blackwood. Rick Riordan. Lloyd Alexander. Meg Cabot. Agatha Christie. Chris Crutcher. Virginia Hamilton. Will Hobbs. Chris Lynch. Gary Paulsen. Larry Colton. Joan Bauer. S.E. Hinton. Amelia Atwater Rhodes. Avi Marion. Carline Cooney. Carl Deuker. Lois Duncan. Brian Jacques. Harry Mazer. Phillip Pullman. Ann Rinaldi. Mike Lupica.

I'm a slow typer, so I spent a good amount of time making that list.
I'd go for Philip Pullman. He's a good author, I've only read his Golden Compass series, and the series doesn't really get interesting until the second book though.

Pride & Prejudice (I just wanted to know what the big deal with it is)
It's boring as hell, but surprisingly well written.

I've read a lot over the summer:

Abraham Lincon Vampire Hunter
Enders Game
The Orson Scott Card Hidden Empire Duology
All of Y-The Last Man (Epic series, very sad ending, made me cry manly tears)
Zeitoun
Most of the issues in the Walking Dean (Just finished Fear the Hunters)
Re-Read the seven books I have of the Rangers Apprentice series
trying to get book one of The His Majesties Dragon series

I love summer reading

I just began my philosophical journey of reinforcing my Atheism by purchasing Richard Dawkin's "The God Delusion" and Sam Harris's "The End of Faith". I was normally picking up the first book so I can read on the plane ride I am going to take this Saturday to Texas but since I am already purchasing novels I might as well pick up some I'll definitely enjoy reading.

Sanderson (the new author) is much more straightforward and to the point. You really should read it, more events happen in it than books 7-10 combined.
i will pick up the newest when it's out in paper back. i have other gripes about later books in the WoT series, but i will spare you (and my wrists) the rant. i enjoyed 11. we will see about 12.

I'm just about to finish "The Shadow Rising" (The Wheel of Time)
I have 7 chapters left.
that is still my favorite book in the series - by far.
