So the Steam Summer Sale is here and most of the games I want on are sale. I don't have a ton of money for the sale this time around, but I'm not sure what I want to get.

The list is (from top to bottom):

XCOM 2
Civilization VI
Tales of Berseria
Tales of Zestiria
NieR: Automata
Far Cry 4
Sonicomi: Communication with Sonico
NekoPara V1&2
Black Mesa
Hyperdimension Neptunia Action Unleashed
PUBG
Haydee
The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
Space Hulk: Deathwing
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun

I'm deciding between picking up a bunch of smaller titles, or maybe a bigger title + smaller ones, or just two bigger ones.

Well, judging from your Steam games, and time played, and a bit of my own preference...

Civ VI, Morrowind, and maybe Far Cry 4.

Edit: Get Morrowind definately ;)

I'll admit I've never played them, but I'd definitely get Nier: Automata and Haydee.

Let's just say that it's... *ahem* Politically motivated.

Get the Civilization VI and XCOM 2 bundle. It cuts down the price to 41 bucks for them as a pair.

Err. Sorry. I'm from the future.[/i] Typo in the title.

But if you're from the future, surely you know which games you bought/played. Or, you've come back in time to change history.

You should have got Morrowind from GOG.com

....Yeah. Buying an Elder Scrolls game on GoG gives you Arena and Daggerfall too, for free, without having to know how to work DOSbox, nor what the secret answer is for the Arena dungeon door.

I'd say get Nier: Automata because it's a game with great gameplay AND story & characters, plus it also needs all the support it can get because it is still a niche game.

XCOM 2 is good. (And can be made better for free with the Long War 2 mod.)

Shadow Tactics is solid, especially if you liked the old Commandos games.

The rest I either haven't played or are crap.

I'd suggest getting Haydee, for the plot.

Seriously though I'd recommend X-Com2, I picked up the DLC for it yesterday and am going to go through it again, if you've played the first one you'll probably like the second one.

I'm kinda interested in getting the Tales of... games myself, I'm not sure if I will this year but I'm defiantly interested in them as I've heard good things about them from a guy I trust.

How would you say XCOM 2 compares to Enemy Unknown/Enemy Within? I'm probably not going to pick it up this sale, but I definitely want it eventually.

I'm coming from the perspective of someone who never modded the previous game, for what it's worth.

Fundamentally the same game, but a bit better. New content and minor improvements across the board.

Even if you don't want to install any drastic mods, I strongly recommend the small quality-of-life mods such as Stop Wasting My Time which gets rid of these weird pauses between actions or Evac All which let's you extract all your soldiers from the evac zone at once rather than having to do it one at a time.

So I played Endless Legend when it came out 2 years ago. Haven't played it since. Went back to it this week. It has a ton of DLC that has come out since. So late Tuesday night, I bought it all, $54 in total. Steam sale goes live 36 hours later, and now you can get all that same content for about $12.

X-com 2 for sheer replay-ability.... (but be prepared to be VERY aggravated by its "pod" activation in stealth. GOD DAMN that's the one poor design decision I can't overlook in it)

and it's STILL a game that I replay and sucks me in to keep playing. Hmph.

PS - if you like combat strategy in space? Can I suggest Homeworld? The sale has the remastered collection going for less than a UK tenner right now. As a HUGE homeworld fan from when it 1st came out (I still have my CD and box) I really wish they'd keep going with it and make a sequel.

So, do me a favour if you like that kind of game? Help them reach Hiigara. :)

Morrowind - is that original or online? The online I gotta say is not too bad. The new arena's a good challenge, world bosses are fun, and the new armor styles are very...chitinous, like a hollowed out xenomorph. plus certain locations really scratch that nostalgia itch if you've played the original. Making a new character is actually new! The story was changed to fit the expac and I enjoyed being a noobie again.

If i would be you i would get XCOM2 provided that you like this kind of game of course. Especially considering that War of the Chosen addon is coming for XCOM2.
Civ VI is also an option.
