That goes double for me... since when I first played Sunshine, I never even touched Mario 64... I remember being one or two shines away from beating the game... Too bad the copy of said game wasn't mine, though...KazeAizen said:So part of the reason might've been that Nintendo had just come off of one its biggest wins ever and the bar was set so unbelievably high that people were probably gonna be disappointed no matter what? Maybe I need to go back and replay it. I don't really remember the camera giving me too much trouble and I remember adapting the controls quite well.FPLOON said:"Alright! Another 3D Mario platformer just like Mario 64!"
The F.L.U.D.D. is the main focus in the platforming...
"Okay! I just made it to the cave and... the game takes my F.L.U.D.D away... The fuck?"
Now, it like that Mario 64 you like so much...
"NO, it isn't! GOD!!! The fucking camera!!! The fucking jumping!!! Fucking EVERYTHING!!! Fuck this game!!"
...That was only the third shine, though...
OT: Honestly, I thinks it just that it didn't live up to the expectations set by Mario 64... and even when you give it a chance, the controls(?) and camera(!) makes everything more difficult than it should be...
I still can't get over all of the dicks on the island, who are holding shines for ransom basically, but I don't find the game terrible in the sense that it's the worse 3D Mario platformer so far... (It's just... different...)
When I did hear these kind of complaints, it baffled me to no end... Maybe I need to actually play Mario 64, since I have yet to do so... still... (Don't judge me...)
