Maybe it will end up like Armored Core where our moon is a giant space station and some psycho tries to crash it into the earth? Don't scoff at Super Moon Madmen. Super Moon Madmen live to smack down scoffers!

Ironically my captcha included From and Armored Core is made by "From Software".

This doesn't sound to great for the Japanese. To those who don't seem to know the moon's gravity affects our ocean tides, so if the moon gets closer I believe that the tides will be more aggressive. If this is true Japan's floodwaters are going to get worse and more violent. Other than that, not much else should be affected.

The tsunami happened when the moon was slightly further away from earth than normal. Anyone who is scared of the super moon is scared for no reason.

Two days ago, there was a halo around the moon formed by the slight cloud overcast. It was beautiful, but I'm guessing this may have something to do with it (the distance being so minimal). Pretty sight. Wish I had a camera capable of taking the halo when I saw it.

Why would the moon being closer to the earth affect anything but the tides in a major way?
well, theoretically it can affect the tectonic plates. but still... it's not like this has never happened before.
The moon has no effect on the tectonic plates whatsoever.

That "professional" astrologer is an idiot.
I thought all astrologers were idiots. -_- *yawn*

Suddenly, I'm thinking about the Hopkins Manuscript. Cool, if I really wanted to *walks to New York* (sure, that'd kill my legs, but hey.)

Everybody remember how to play the Song of Time?
How about Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata?

OT: Sounds like a sweet event, but I doubt this Super Moon is going to start the end of the world. It would make for a sweet game idea. With all the generic shooters there are out there, why can't we have another game take on this idea?

I'm glad I'm not working. You really do get more crazy stuff in the ER on full moons. I can only imagine what a SUPER MOON is gonna do.
Can I come and video tape you?

I'm actually more concerned about how the journalist who wrote that article seems to be giving the wild conjecture of a single self-proclaimed astrologist a lot more weight than the NASA scientists, astronomers and other experts who know what they're talking about and are all saying the same thing.

Also, it bugs me that most of the examples listed of 'supermoons' causing disasters happen when the moon is closer to Apogee (the opposite point in it's orbit) than the supposedly dangerous Perigee (which, BTW, happens roughly once a month). Then again, I always get annoyed when people ignore the facts just to make up a sensationalist story.

So...does this mean werewolves will be extra hairy?

(Also, mermaids from H2O: just add water would be extra crazy, except that show has finished, even if they've only jsut starting showing season 3 of it in the nation that, you know, created it, 2 years after the UK saw it, and they took it off after 3 or 4 episodes...250 million people watched that show, that's something like 1/25th of the world)
