I am kind of confused. I think you mean powers that have a draw back? Like on this anime I saw where a guy could stop time but when he did that it also stopped his heart. So he could only do it for like a second at a time.
Actually, it only changed other people's perception of time - time itself didn't stop.

...Yes, I know what anime and character you're talking about just from that description.
that was from Code Geass, and Max is right, it didnt actually stop time, just peoples perception of it
The point is it stopped his heart... I think. I tend to mix up every anime I see.

Lame superpower, whee!

- The power to read your own mind
- The power to predict precicely when someone is about to sneeze.
- The power to breathe undewater but only at depths of more than 30 meters.
- The power to regenerate your toenails and fingernails.
- The power to know every time someone makes a Twitter update.
- The power to fart any national anthem.
- The power to think up stupid "lame superpower" ideas.

Wasn't there some character with the power to turn invisable but only when no-one was looking?

If you're speaking from the point of Darker than Black, several powers require some seriously fucked up renumerations.

Gravity manipulation = Breaking several fingers
Shockwave Manipulation = Eating cigarettes
Time Manipulation = Growing younger
Blood as a weapon = Cutting yourself
Momentary age reversal = Growing older

...among many other things.

That radiation one from Heroes. Giving yourself and everyone near you radiation poisoning would be shit.

A moment of silence for the former Marvel super-villian Unus The Untouchable, who's personal force field grew so powerful it repulsed the very oxygen molecules in the air until he suffocated.

Turning everything you touch into gold

Just about any superpower can fuck you right back. Invincibility win inevitably lead to you going mad after watching everyone around you die on the battlefield. Immortality will lead to you going mad after everyone around you dies. Flight will result in you either flying into power lines, getting sucked into a jet turbine, or you getting shot down accidentally. Laser vision for obvious reason. Same with heat vision.
...
Just about every Superman power has to potential to backfire.
walking through walls/teleporting results in getting yourself stuck in walls shapeshifting/invisibity resulting in madness from being able to be anywhere and be anyone

silly useless powers
being able to change a womans breast milk into tang for 30 seconds once every 5 years and if you dont to it on the first full moon after the 5 years past you're blood is replaced by cheese nips (and the cheese was made with the milk that you've replaced over the years)

The Human Bomb, form Uncle Sam's whatever force; he takes the cake, with his ability to spontaneously detonate himself with the force and radiation of a nuclear bomb!

Hold up...how exactly would those two drive you crazy? I mean, I can understand the Teleportation thing, but Shapeshifting and Invisibility? Unless it's permenant invisibility, how on Earth could that do anything more than irk your Co-workers? As for the shapeshifting, I have a rather hard time imagining a scenario where being able to impersonate people you don't like and engage in heterosexual solo sex could make you insane.
And even if it only applied to non-human transformations, could'nt you just spend all day tounging yo--CENSORED
At worst, it'd be permanent shapeshifting-- and in that case, why not just turn into, say...Viggo Mortenson in his LoTR role?

Selective super strength: The strength of 200 men that only activates when you're least expecting it.

Every round of videogames, every handshake, every casual pat on the back has the potential to go horribly, horribly wrong. And that's to say nothing of your "special late-at-night alone time".

Don't underestimate this power. Think of the poor individuals who cannot do this...

Never was there a better reason for suicide.

Yeah it was that Mystery Men character who was played by the kid from Good Burger. Not a lot of information in that sentence...

-Mr. Fantastic-esque stretchy power with poor self-control; what if you got stuck in something, like a door? you'd just keep stretching, and what if you couldn't unstretch yourself?

-The power to speak only insulting phrases to dangerous animals.

-the power to spontaneously 'brick' electronics

-the power to conjure boot-to-the-head strikes (what would you do with all those single boots?)
