Favorite? Batman. He has the best villains. He is human and vulnerable, yet credibly driven to fight crime (And love doing so... I hate reluctant super heroes). Great toys. Back in the 70s, depending on who was drawing, the Batmobile might be a Ford Mustang one issue, a modified Jaguar the next.

Spiderman is a close 2nd. Also vulnerable human with a beautiful soul and abilities you can believe would be fun to possess.

Best villain? Doc Doom. Man owns an entire country and possess one of the most frightening things a villain can have: the belief that he is right.

Magneto is a pretty good 2nd for the same reason.

Worst major Hero? The Phantom. Would you really want to run around a tropic jungle in a wool onesy?

DC vs. Marvel: Marvel. DC has the 2 greatest heroes followed by all sorts of 2nd raters (Hawkman... a guy that uses medievil weapons? really?) None of Marvels heroes measure up to DCs Batman/Superman for epic greatness presenting two incredible archetypes, but, they have a huge number of A list characters: Spiderman, Wolverine, Thor, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Captain America (OK, he uses a shield, but it is a space age indestructible shield) Silver Surfer, Iron Man. That's a lot more than 2. (I never got into Wonderwoman enough to put her on par w/ Batman/Superman).

{1} Deadpool, 'cause he's Deadpool.

{2} Aquaman, 'cause he's Aquaman.

{3} I'm a Marvel, and boom goes the dynamite. Deadpool...wins!

...what?

Good luck getting a girlfriend.
You know, I always wonder why people act like you can't get a girl because you like nerd things. I mean, I am married to a beautiful woman and I am something of a super nerd, into almost every stereotypical nerd activity including video games, MMO's, comic books, and D&D. Never stopped me.

I guess that view holds some water in a high school setting where everyone is overly concerned with coolness.
sorry if i double post

See it turns out that most attractive women without narcissistic behaviors prefer nerdy guys because they tend to be sweet guys and more down to earth, thats what my best friend tells me at least, I on the other hand am very similar to Tony Stark without the tons of money or the suit. I just happen to have a secret super hero obsession
Well, Tony Stark without the money, suit, or genius is... just a drunken asshole. So you're a drunken asshole?
Well minus the drunk part yeah lol dont forget the playboy tho

I prefer Marvel characters, they're darker and more flawed.

I think Superman is the most over-rated, but I wouldn't consider him my least favorite.

My favorites are Psylocke and Nightcrawler.

Ditto to the guy who said Apocalypse for the villain.

Who would you cast as Apocalypse in a movie? I'd probably cast Hugo Weaving as Sinister, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Bolivar Trask but as for Apocalypse, I haven't a clue.

My favourite superhero is probably Deadpool, just because.

My least favourite is Superman, as he comes across to me as utterly ridiculous and overpowered.

And I generally prefer Marvel heroes over DC heroes.

My favourite hero is Green Arrow.

The conclusion I've come to about Green Arrow is that he's less the ultimate liberal in comics and more the ultimate narcissist.

I say that not as someone who dislikes Ollie, and I say that as a huge liberal.

Because if you look at his history, he's a rich, spoiled brat who has a 'transformative experience' and becomes a superhero BASICALLY on a lark, modeling himself off of Batman (Down to the plane, the cave, the gadgets, the boy ward).

Then he loses all of his money, and out of nowhere he's the champion of the downtrodden. But damn, where was that social conscience BEFORE? (I know, all of this is about what the writers chose to do, but what I'm doing is extracting a personality based on established continuity).

And he cares so much about the common man that he ignores his own sidekick's descent into heroin addiction, which has to be recognized by Hal Jordan. Hal sees it, and confronts Roy about it, and confronts Ollie about it. Ollie knows damn well what is going on, and still doesn't do anything -- it's DINAH who is there for Roy, who supports him.

And then you cut to the Grell years, and this ultimate liberal has no problem, absolutely no problem, killing the bad guys when it suits him, when the loss they inflict is personal (the beating of Black Canary). All of his principals extend just insofar as it becomes inconvenient for him, is basically the message there.

Oh, and he cheats on Dinah. Multiple times. So he's, you know, classy, to.

And then he dies. Or rather, faced with an option to continue living but armless, and possibly doing great good in just that form, he chooses the cowards way out and kills himself, or allows himself to die. Weak.

And then, he's brought back to life. Fresh start. Doing it right. Okay. Some stuff goes down and, you know, this time it really does look as though he's changed.

Until Cry for Justice. His city destroyed and his niece killed, he takes a life again, consequences be damned. It wasn't for Roy and it wasn't for Dinah. It wasn't for anyone but hismelf, his own sense of self satisfaction. He knew it would ruin his relationship with Dinah, he knew it would ruin a lot of people's lives, but it didn't matter. Because he wanted to do it, and that's all that ever really matters to him; himself.

I submit that he does what he does because it's convenient, because it's cathartic, rather than out of any real sense of self sacrifice or for others or the greater good. And I think that actually makes him a MORE interesting character, one with very realistic flaws that work against him.

The idea of a deeply flawed human being trying to be the hero they know they can never be makes for a great read. Oliver Queen feels more like a real, human character than Batman will ever manage to be.

Who is your favorite super-hero and why?
Gambit. I've always loved his powers and the story he has. Its a shame Marvel isn't pushing him more currently...

Close seconds would be Batman and Thor. Though if I may branch out from Marvel and DC, I've gotta throw the entire cast of The Boys in here.

Least favorite?
I've never been a big fan of Spiderman, though I wouldn't say he's anywhere near my least favorite. Closest I can come is Superman. He just bores me. But with how big and expansive the comic book universes are, its nigh impossible to find someone you hate the most. And even if you do, $20 says there is an alternate universe version you could enjoy.

Do you prefer marvel or DC flavor?
I disliked DC when I was younger, but as I grew, I came to really enjoy it. I still prefer Marvel though.

Adding the same info about villains is also acceptable.
OKAY!
Favorite villain would be Magneto, though to be honest, I hesitate to call him a villain most of the time. Sure, he's more extreme than the X-Men, but can you really say what he's doing is wrong? He's trying to ensure the continuance of his species against humanity, and homo sapiens fired the first shot.

Least Favorite: See this section for heroes.

I think i just realized the problem I have with the big DC heroes

They all seem to have some obvious weakness, batman is nothing without his suit or money, Superman and kryptonite, Wonder Woman and her gear, Green lantern and his ring, Flash and...walls seriously think about that, idc how fast you can run the force of that impact would kill him, but in more seriousness flash and anything he cant solve with speed and yet none of their villains have beat the ever living fuck out of them as any average person could do with simple knowledge.

Send spys to find Batmans true identity? good
Send team into heroes home to try and kill him there? Well thats not a smart move, now he knows you know who he is, know what the green goblin did? attacked the things he held dear to him. Sure batman doesn't have a family ok but what does he have? Wayne Biotech...destroy it either literally or fiscally you already seem to have endless black market resources anyway.

I could go on and im sure my points are easily arguable so ill check them out later lol
