Superman and Batman versus Alien and Predator.

The other day my girl picked me up a new comic, namely, Superman and Batman versus Alien and Predator.

Now I am a big fan of all these universes but I have not read much about this particular cross over. I was just wondering if any one can fill me in on whether or not this was a once of thing or a continuing saga. Also I have decided I would like to read more of the Alien vs predator comics so I thought about picking up the Omnibus for the series and the Alien series too. What are your opinions of all these works and what would you do in my position.

I gnerally hate Superman. He has all the power in the world and can't die unless you somehow manage to equire a very rare piece of his home planet (which for some reason kills him). Why doesn't he fly around in space and kill aliens... or why not just take over the frikken world. Jackarse! Hope a preditor kills him. If it were just Alien Vs Preditor, and then Batman gets into the action aswell, that would be pretty sweet. His bat ninja stars could help kill the aliens and he's a sneaky as a Preditor (but by judging by the new Alien Vs Preditor movie, that's not the hard). I still hope Batman dies as well. Just because of that show in the 70's.

I hate Superman, and find it impossible to enjoy anything he's involved in.

The whole "I can destroy entire planets with flatulence" kind of power levels just disgust me in characters. You can't get inside a head when they're like that. Just boring.


Also: Superman could pwn every predator and alien at the same time just by tearing off the continent they're all on, running at the sun light-speed, and then jumping back to Earth. The acceleration jellies the aliens and predators, the sun disposes of the evidence, and Superman blames Luther or something.

I was hoping one of the Preditors had some kryptonit or something. I just want Superman dead.

You're right about not being able to get into supermans head. The spiderman movies were great because that's all they were about. He sucked, he was late for work, had a shitty love life, dropping grades, and so on. Superman... he... um.

Batman has already beaten the predator on numerous occasions.

So adding superman on his side is just kinda like letting a bear fight a baby.

you know, suddenly i had a idea, why notsomething like goku vs superman, 2 stupidly powerful chars fighting together, at least goku fights agaisnt enemies almost so powerful like him, not like superman that fights a stupid bald.

honestly i would prefer see smething like batman vs the punisher but because they areform diferent comic companies that not going to happen

yea, i read that. it was pretty lame. the predators were weak, there was barely any fighting, there was barely any story. Just an excuse to put all the characters together.

It was almost as bad as Transformers and New Avengers.

Im going to leap to the defense of Superman by listing his many weaknesses. Which is odd, really.

Obviously kyrptonite kills him. But magic can do it as well. Also brute force has actually killed him before too.

He is not invincible. And he has some great stories. Mostly him trying to cope with the fact that he cannot help everybody. He cant just make the human race better by force. That's obviously wrong. So he goes out there and does all these amazing things and inspires humans to be better.

Thats why the Lex/Superman dynamic is so cool. Because Lex believes that the human race does not need Superman to save them and that they would save themselves without his help just fine. But, Supes can't not help people. The fact that he has all this power and could almost do anything he wanted, but choses to save lives and try and make the world a better place the hard way anyway that makes him such a cool character.

Also, yeah, generally crossovers suck. That said, originally the whole Aliens Vs Predator was a crossover and look how well that worked.

He got shot in the eye and the bullet just desintergrated!!! He didn't even blink or his eye's water. That's called invincible. If we dropped a nuke on him would he skim his knee.

Well yes, but thats because he is superhumanly strong and resistant. But if he were to fight somebody else who was on par or stronger than him then he could lose. And he has. That entire terrible Death of Superman story was about a monster named Doomsday that killed him with brute force.

Not so long ago Wonder Woman cut his throat with her tiara because it has magical properties. Also, red sun radiation also takes away his powers.

Il never unstand why all the hate for superman, he DEFINES Superhero, I know allot of people hate him because hes over powered, but so is doctor manhatten could kill superman by thinking it.

Kryptonite, is radioactive pieces of him homeplanet, not just normal peices. Think of it as a much stronger form of radiation poisoning.
