Reggie closed his phone, bemused by the coversation her just had. He threw the breifcase into the trunk of his car. With it fresh in his mind, he jotted down "Shamus Bridge, 77th, 2 hours" on a piece of paper. He sat down in the drivers seat.
Shamus Bridge, person or place? were his first thoughts though he decided not to ponder it much more. He'd have enough time to stop home and drop off the money. Two hours gave him time to think. His mind was buzzing madly.
Business secrets? Did they know who i was dealing with? Has someone sold me out? Also, Adam dead? The family won't be pleased. Malian and Alito? Bit high profile of me but it had to be done. Our operations should be easier now, no? Me? Marked? That adds to it.
He cracked his knuckles and revved his engine. He pulled out onto the deserted street.

It didnt take long for him to get back to his appartment. He dropped off the cash in his saferoom and left quickly. He left the building and head back down to his car. A man was sat on the bonet.
"Hey Reg, seen you got Alito then eh? What's next?" Asked the man. He was fair young too, like reggie.
"You know the plan. Bump up all operations. This city will soon belong to us ight?" Said Reggie coldly. This was the gang's plan, not his.
"You got it man." Said the man, he stood up and walked off dialing a number into his phone.

This is gonna be a long day night thought Reggie as the sky grew even darker and the twilight ensued. He pulled out of the car park and headed for 77th Avenue. He checked the glovebox, his machine pistols were still there.
Hope I don't need these, better to be safe then sorry though.

"Yeah... repeating."Kris shook his head again."I don't like this one bit though, where the hell are we headed? better not be to the middle of this shit storm." Kris was now paying attention to the roads they were taking. This area of town was a little less familiar, Kris usually didn't venture out of his playground unless he was serving out a contract and those had declined rather sharply. Maybe something was happening in the underworld. A shift in power perhaps... but that didn't really matter, whoever moved to the top they would still need someone like Kris. "If we go someplace where we might need to use our powers more openly, it won't end well." He turned to look at the man beside him."and if you're trying to screw me over, things won't end well for you." He was still a little wary of this acquaintance.

"We're headed to the airport"

Nathan explained, looking to Kris

"I'll use my ability to get us a pilot with an airplane and then we're getting out of this city. Any problems with that?"

He asked, a hint of impatience in his voice

Damien opened up his private phone. He had it customized, not even the Company could tap his phone. He quickly input the number his friend had given him so long ago. He heard the voice on the other line.
"Hello, who is this? Who's calling?"

"Kris, it's me, Damien. Listen, we need to talk, and what I need to tell you can't be said on the phone. I don't care what you're doing right now, you need to drop it and come meet me. This could save your life. I'll be at my hut. you know where it is, right? I'll be waiting. I don't care who you bring, but you cannot tell anyone other than who you bring where you are going. Okay? Goodbye, I'll be waiting."

The phones vibration had startled him. Kris scrambled to fish out the cellphone from his pocket. When he opened it he had expected his client but what he got was a voice he hadn't heard in a while now. He listened to the panic in Damien's voice.

"I don't care who you bring, but you cannot tell anyone other than who you bring where you are going. Okay? Goodbye, I'll be waiting."

"Alright, I understand. I'll be coming in from my path."Kris closed the phone. Damien wouldn't have sounded that panicked without good reason, he could handle himself very well, but if he was this riled up, it had to be either two things. The Company or Arthur."Nathan. We can't go to the airport. Gotta stop this car, they'll be expecting people, Supers, to try and run away from here."Kris held on to the mans arm."Listen to me, the call i just got was from a good friend. There's a chance I can get back at Arthur for doing this to me!" He nearly shouted at the man. Ever since he found himself in this city, he harbored a hate for the memory of the slimy creature. From the swiss cheese of his mind, that was the only thing that came out the clearest. The pain from Arthur's sadistic torture.

"I know you might not trust me, we didn't exactly meet under the right circumstances, but if you want to live a little longer against something like the Company you'll need more than your little mind controlling thing. There is a place we can go to meet my friend." Kris started sounding more desperate. He knew that he would need more people with him and Damien if they wanted to stand a chance against Arthur or the Company."I'm giving you a chance to come with me and help fight these god damned monsters. Running won't solve anything when it comes to the Company. They have ways of finding Supers, even if their powers aren't obvious. When they find you, you won't stand a chance."

Nathan looked over at Kris, surprised at the intensity of the grip and the desperation in his voice. It remained him of himself long ago...

"And in this courtroom, I find Mister Spencer Jr. Not Guilty"

"WHAT?! This is insane! I was there..."

"Balif, will you please remove Mister Andrews from the courtroom"

"I WAS THERE YOU BASTARD! I SAW WHAT HE DID!"

"Mister Andrews, one more outburst like that and I'll hold you in contempt of court"

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS! YOU'LL ALL PAY!"

The memories came flood back, but Nathan kept his face stoic and responded calmly

"Very well then. It seems you trust this man very much. Where do we go from here?"

After making a wide bend along one side of the pleasant Liberty Park, 77th Avenue plunged into a less savory environment, cutting through a corner of Downtown known simply as The Dirts. Nobody who lived there had ever had enough imagination to think of a more descriptive name.

The neighborhood had been a nice place when the city was first founded, and Downtown was the only Town there was, but since then it had fallen into disarray. Due partly to old-fashioned and out-dated architecture and layout that had for some reason or another never been remedied, the area had been neglected. Nobody wanted to go in and fix it up, and so nobody did, and it just got worse and worse. Rich people moved out, poor people moved in, grand old buildings that should have been preserved as historical sites were simply forgotten, and given over to squatters and gangs.

Six years ago, an effort was made by the Board to go in and try to regain some of the neighborhood, and some noticeable headway was made. Crime went down, business went up, and things looked bright, but eventually the project's progress ground to a halt, and The Dirts were abandoned once more. Nowadays, the efforts of the endeavor are only kind of visible. A few businesses still function, a few buildings are still in a decent state of repair, and crime isn't as bad as it used to be. It's still a shitty place though.

About halfway through The Dirts, 77th crossed over an old drainage canal, that's still in use only because there's nothing else that can be done with the space it takes up. It's old, inefficient, and filled with muck, muck that somewhat resembles water and moves at a somewhat similar pace, slowly making it's way along the moldy, cracked concrete of the canal to god know's where. Shamus Bridge, a rather unremarkable piece of work who's namesake nobody know's, makes it's blunt little arch about twenty feet above this shallow petri dish. The only light came from a pair of 19th century lamp posts that had somehow never been replaced.

It was around this dismal scene that Pain had set up his various vantage points. Getting every angle was made extremely easy when one could place camera's wherever one wanted, inside whatever one wanted. Such as the "fire escape" on the side of a nearby apartment, or the "piece of a car door" that lay on the sidewalk. The silhouette of a cat in a window. The front left tire of the broken down pickup. Pain himself was just where he wanted to be; hidden but just within reach.

Temica Gray sat huddled in the corner of a dumpster and the canal's retainer wall, dressed in ragged cloths and wearing broad sunglasses, the perfect image of a homeless person. She shivered uncontrollably, not only because of her lack of good shoes. Underneath her clothes, hundreds of black tendrils wound around her body, with an extra thick concentration of them running along her spine. Thousands of tiny pin pricks dotted their surface, ready to stab deep into her in an instant, as He had "explained" to her before.

Everything was set, now he just had to wait. Reggie still had an hour to show up. Pain grinned in the blackness of his hiding spot, his tongue lashing out and skewering a rat, then exploding into a ball of spikes and sending the small rodent's innards flying everywhere. "Now, to figure out what Temica will say." the monster chuckled, licking the blood off it's teeth.

Reggie pulled onto 77th Avenue in his Jet Black Cadillac. The street lamps along the road blazed, reflecting off the sheek metallic body of the car.

A bridge slowly drew closer to Reggie as he drove.

"Shamus" He said to himself in almost a whisper.

He threw up his hood as he got closer to the bridge. He pulled onto the curb of the bridge and stepped out of the car.
Wood, metal, concrete, stone, flesh...... flesh?
He could sense what was around him. What not only he could touch, but what his mind could.
More company then I was expecting, unrelated? He ready Reg, don't be a fool
He left the engine running but glanced at the clock on the dashboard. Dead on time. Perfection.

He stared at a person, hidden from sight but he knew they were there.

"Here" He said quietly.

Now was the time. If she let the humans rampage any longer they would doubtlessly invite some less-than-friendly company to their location. From her hiding place she could see the group was mostly still together. Good. She wouldn't want to leave any stragglers.

On either side of the crowd began, a large metallic wall began to materialise from the ground upwards, leaving them trapped inside the unclimbable structure. Perhaps not a permanent solution, it would only be a matter of time before they figured out some way through the barrier, but it would do for now. She only needed to find a few extra powers to give her a proper advantage against the supers, and she wouldn't need much time for that.

She silently left the rooftop, taking off after the still beeping icon that was Damien Lier, and leaving the confused and shocked humans far behind. If she wanted to take advantage of his trepidation then she may have to fake a few facts about him. Easy enough with a bit of help from Carter's database.

Code:
//databaseinquiry: Damien Lier
The profile came to her attention and she quickly scanned the entire document, putting the facts at the forefront of her mind. If she could manage to convince Damien that she was this Catherine woman that he had spoken of then perhaps he could lead her to more supers... More powers... And then she could kill him when he outlived his usefulness.

Trevor remained trapped inside his head whatever took him over was calling the shots now and there was no way of stopping it.
"you have got to be kidding me, should`nt it be the wave of the future or something" the voice echoed through it`s new home Trevor still confused as to what was happening and scarred that he had no control over it.

"oh my god you killed that guy he had a family and friends and you killed him, please if you can remove me do it now, take my body I don`t care, just please let me disappear and not have to put up with this" Trevor pleaded his voice resembling that of a man who's spirit was broken.

"if you insist, but it won`t be as fun without you" the voice laughed as he took full control of Trevor's body once again, he jumped upwards landing on a nearby roof, he then turned his attention to the nearby power-lines and let out final laugh before leaping across the road below him a couple of bystanders looking up in astonishment of what was happening, then suddenly he grabbed one of the power-lines and ripped it down electricity still flowing from it`s tip.

"wait, before I die can you tell me one thing, who, or what are you?" Trevor asked still sounding like a man who was changed forever.

"well my friend, I go by one name and one name alone and that`s....Mister Terrible" and with that mister terrible plunged the cable into the left side of his head several thousand volts all flowing into him as he tried to use them to reprogram his brain so that wherever Trevor was hiding in his mind he would be obliterated and forgotten.

"YES, THAT`S IT I FEEL YOU DISAPPEARING, NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN" terrible yelled feeling Trevor fading away from his very own mind as terrible took full control, after what seemed like hours to him but what was really five minutes terrible finally set the cable down on the ground and let out a sigh of relief he then lept upwards onto the same roof he jumped off of five minutes ago and shouted almost loud enough that everyone in the vicinity could hear.

"I`M BACK BITCHES" terrible shouted at the top of his lungs before firing several bursts of lightning into the air the crackle and thunder music to his ears.

Pain watched his screen with interest as the sleek black Cadillac pulled up and stopped on the bridge. Classy, way too classy. He must be pretty confident in his powers to pull something like that in a neighborhood like this. Heh.

As Reggie stepped out of his car, Pain zoomed a few of his cameras in, their high quality images giving him a detailed view of the man's face. He could tell this guy was nervous, on edge. He obviously suspected something was up. After looking around for a few moments, Reggie gazed almost straight downwards, and muttered something.

Oooo, smart boy. Looks like he know's I'm nearby. Does he suspect me? Possibly. Guess I'll play the unconscious hobo for now. Heh. Pain remained motionless, enclosed in concrete, as two radios materialized in front of his mouth. He pressed the button on one, and spoke.

"Stand up slowly, put the radio over your mouth, start moving your lips."

------------

Temica did as the voice in her ear-piece commanded and slowly stood up, the top half of her body appearing over the canal's retainer wall, about thirty yards away. She raised the disconnected radio to her face and began to move her lips behind it. It had all been arranged, double earpieces so she could hear the entire conversation. She would move her lips when her voice spoke, she would stop when her voice stopped. If she failed this "rather simple task", she wouldn't die for a very long while.

The darkness, distance, and mess of ragged hobo clothing concealed the uncontrollable shaking of her body, the sunglasses and caked dirt concealed the tears that streamed down her face.

------------

"Glad you could make it, Reggie." Temica's voice squawked from the radio that was suddenly laying on the driver's seat of Reggie's car. Pain grinned at the mans' surprised expression. "Don't act surprised, it'll blow our cover. Just pick up the radio like it was supposed to be there." Once Reggie had picked up the radio, the young woman's voice continued.

"Good. Now, listen carefully. As you have probably figured out already, I'm the seemingly homeless woman standing behind the retainer wall about thirty yards away. You see me? Ok, don't look at me again. Don't even come near me. This meeting has to be as secret as possible. We've both got to keep out heads down, especially after today's festivities." The voice paused, as Pain savored the surprised and suspicious look that yet again covered Reggie's face.

"Yes, I know you're a super, don't think you were that subtle. Besides, a normal person wouldn't have anywhere near as much confidence in their own safety as you have." Pain paused to look at the groups of thugs and lowlifes that were gathering in the shadows on either side of the bridge, drawn by the expensive car and lone, seemingly defenseless man. Eh, better to let him get surprised. It'll be a better show that way. Heh.

"So, any questions before I explain our situation?"

Metal, concrete, flesh... more flesh. Gangs?
He glanced over his shoulder and saw a gang of thugs eyeing him and his car is. He grinned slightly.

Fun...

Reggie's mind could sense that there was more here. The gang was expected by him. The other stranger who had also been hiding, his placement was no coincidence.
Metal, glass.... electronics? Cameras!
They were everywhere. He sensed them there. He now saw them. All watching him.
He smiled even wider.

"Yeah I got a question, whose your friend?" He grinned as he beckoned with his head to the other stranger's hiding spot and winked at one of the cameras.

"Smart boy."

The figure standing by the wall was abruptly pulled back into the darkness. There was a tremendous crack as the concrete at either end of Shamus Bridge was torn apart, and suddenly the entire structure shook, then rose wobbly into the air, briunging Reggie and his car with it, balancing on the giant ball of blackness that expanded beneath. The buildings all around seemed to lean inwards, their foundations creaking and groaning in protest as the people inside panicked. Frantic yelling and screaming echoed from the streets where the gangs had gathered, cut short by the hideous sounds of tearing flesh. The world seemed to darken as the nearby streetlights were shattered and black tendrils crept up the walls.

A gigantic darkness silently morphed up out of the concrete on the other side of Reggie's car. In only a few more moments, the hulking, monstrous form of Pain stood there, one foot planted on the roof of the Cadillac, his forearms rested casually on his knee. The freak's long, hideous head hung over Reggie, eyeing him like a bemused predator that just recently ate it's fill. Black goo dripped from his maw, the long black tongue slowly easing it's way out and flicking the air just inches from the back of the man's head.

"Your scent tastes like the floor in the men's bathroom." he stated abruptly in his deep, throaty, gurgling voice. The Beast grinned in delight at the shocked expression on Reggie's face when the man whirled around. He quickly recovered however, almsot instantly going into "fight mode", preparing to defend himself from the gruesome alien thing that stood above him.

"Heh. Never get into a fist fight on a first date, Reggie. You'll never get laid that way." Pain continued to examine the man, not making any move. The ground they were standing on gently rolled this way and that as the goo beneath it undulated. The only sounds that drifted into the silence were the subtle groaning of unstable concrete and the moist squishing of the fetid water down below.

Hmmm I'm very curious to know how Pain will react to Mike, seems like he would like him

and some plot related generality would be awesome the only thing I think of for Mike to do is cause absurd amounts of havoc at a shopping mall

Well, for starters, the entire city is out to get you if they find out your a super. If that's not enough, you could always be near the spot that Terrible is shooting lightning bolts.

Once 3W get's back there'll be some pretty epic plotiness happening.

Sorry for the slightly lengthy disappearance.

A tension was lifted from Kris' shoulders, a sigh escaped his lips."I do trust him."Kris looked out the window and the roads. They were close to downtown. They would have to drive fast to make it to the less populated area of town where Kris had set up his little tunnel."Ok, do you know how to get to the old theatre on King Street?"He asked."We can get to my friend from there." Hopefully it wouldn't take them too long to reach the destination. The Theatre was on an old stretch of the road that made its way into Downtown Urbis, since the city had grown it had become forgotten, a perfect area for a little secret tunnel.

Let them find out it'd be fun to see an entire police force lying on the ground, I wonder how many imaginary bullets it would take to kill all of them? but then again I could make friends with a lightning shooting madman

I had choices

Mike saw lightning shooting into the air, which was strange there were no dark clouds in the sky. The he saw it's source someone leaping across the roofs was doing it. He must be one of those 'supers' the mayor was talking about.

Mike had never played with a super before, at least not to his knowledge, it seemed like it would be fun. He drove a nail into the back of his knee causing his new 'friends' knee to buckle when he jumped to the next building and fall to the ground. Mike walked over and looked at him with the curiosity of a child.

Hope your char can fall of a building with no permanent damage, also note that when you inevitably zap Mike, Terrible is going to feel all the pain Mike should, so post accordingly

terrible hit the ground with a crash landing on a dumpster scaring a cat and sending it running at a rapid pace, slowly he got up from the ground wondering what exactly got him he looked up to see someone peering over at him from the roof.
"what do you want?" terrible asked getting to his feet and dusting himself off looking at the stranger with a annoyed look on his face.

"hey and you would`nt happen to know who made me fall would you because it could`nt have been you because that means I`d have to kill you and string your intestines out along this alley" terrible yelled firing a bolt of lightning into the air as a warning shot.

"Yes I'm the one who made you fall, I figured it'd be fun to play with you." Mike said unphased by the threat. The bolt flew past him, an obvious warning shot. "I'd be careful about that you'll hurt yourself more then me."

Mike isn't on the roof

"play?, anyone ever told you, you have a weird view on life?" terrible said one eyebrow raised staring at whoever was in front of him.

"hey before we fight, you would`nt happen to know where I can find some radioactive material say plutonium would you?" terrible asked calmly hoping to get something useful out of someone who he assumed was worthless.
